Liverpool Football Club - Games

Team news

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister sustained bruising to his face during the weekend win over Manchester City but he is expected to be available.

Conor Bradley will remain sidelined for a "few weeks" with a muscle injury, according to head coach Arne Slot.

Newcastle pair Sven Botman and Joelinton could both return from the knee injuries that have kept them out since the beginning of the month.

Fit-again midfielder Sandro Tonali made his comeback as a substitute against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

---------------------------------

These lot want a spot in UCL so will be hungry to get a result. Isak is the danger man, must contain him. If Forrest beat Arsenal and we win, we'll have a tight grip on the title. This won't be easy but I'm sure the lads and Anfield will be buzzing.

Players looked knackered after the City game, especially Szoboszlai, but we need another strong performance by the same players in this tough match. Newcastle are fighting for a top 4 spot, so they need all the points they can get. They're in somewhat decent form, especially Isak is on fire atm, but they aren't alien to losing and conceding goals, lost 4-0 to City just recently.

Anyway, the bigger the point gap is between us and second the more we can concentrate on the CL. Arsenal might drop points again so this is an opportunity to extend our lead even further.

All eyes on Isak and that Lewis Hall, both players could wear the Red shirt next season

We need to bring our A game tonight, yes we are in a strong position but the title is not done and dusted, not by a long chalk.
Say we lose tonight and Arsenal beat Forest which is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility given the trouble Wolves gave us at home recently, if Arsenal then win their game in hand a win against us at Anfield would leave just 2 points in it. We are one poor result away from being back in a right scrap.
We cant afford to start thinking we've done it, not when we havent. That type of complacency has sunk many a team/athlete.
I actually expect Newcastle to score tonight, with the likes of Isak and Gordon up top i can see them getting at least 1 so i think we are going to have to score 2 or more to win it, in order to do that we need to be up for it from the start.

Yup nothing is won yet, it can all change with a swing of few results. Must keep the positive tide going and seal the deal. After this I think we've got bit of a break from epl games, Southampton March 8th then early April our neighbours.

Yeah Isak not even on the bench for Newcastle.

We're strating with almost the same team as against City, only Jota in for Jones and Tsimikas in for Robbo.

We’re very open at the back, Newcastle have missed 2 sitters already

Dominated...but we need a 2nd goal to breathe easy. Remember an Isak-less Newcastle means a two goal lead should do it

1-0 half time but should have been more. We'll need at least one more since we can always get sucker punched by these.

Great first half, Diaz is on fire. Need that second goal though.

FT: Nottm Forest 0-0 Arsenal

Important to take all 3 points today to snuff out any remaining Arsenal's hope

Didn’t think they would get much out of that game.

Regardless of what happens here, they aren’t catching us.
