Liverpool vs Ipswich 25/01 15:00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Team news

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is ruled out after being forced off at half-time against Lille on Tuesday, joining Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez on the sidelines.

Head coach Arne Slot says it is "safe" to play Ibrahima Konate, who was rested in midweek and has been managing knee pain since returning from injury earlier this month.

Julio Enciso is available for his Ipswich debut following his loan move from Brighton, while Jaden Philogene awaits his first start since signing from Aston Villa.

Sammie Szmodics, Conor Chaplin and Chiedozie Ogbene remain out but the fit-again Axel Tuanzebe is in contention to start, while Kalvin Phillips is back after being ineligible to face parent club Manchester City.

----------------------------------

On paper we should be obliterating these lot but wouldn't be surprised if they pull out a worldie performance like many teams do against us.

Get this one done and dusted comfortably please lads.

We got away with murder last week with those 2 late goals then Arsenal blowing that 2-0 lead, in a parallel universe somewhere they are right up our ar.ses now and we are facing a blizzard of headlines about us being chokers and bottlers.
We need to put a run of wins together similar to the one we started the season off with. We also need to be aware that at this time of year you start to get those shock results that you get every season when players near the bottom suddenly realise if they dont start getting their ar.ses into gear soon they'll be kopping for a huge pay cut next season.

So many "pundits" expecting this to be a walk over. Just hope we don't listen to their noise. I do expect a win but don't think Ipswich are just gonna roll over.
2 nil or even 3 -1 will do for me  :buttrock

As Yakka said, we need to string some wins together without much drama so the press focus on other things. This is a good match to win comfortably

1 up anyway. Great finish from Szob into the bottom corner.  It's his 4th of the season but capable of so much more.

2:0. Gakpo right footed cross from just outside the box to Mo, controls with his right and slams it in with his left foot. A lovely goal. TBF in regard to the comments above, our xG has consistently been better than the goals scored over the last few matches, we've been a bit unlucky. A comfortable win today would be very nice. I'm tempting fate, but I think this is our year.

Could be a very significant 45 minutes in the title race coming up, Arsenal are down to 10 at Wolves and Forest are losing at Bournemouth.

I know these are a prem side and I understand the initial slight worry with some on here as we can't afford any slip ups, but if we don't rotate at least a couple of players in a home match against a bottom of the table team then I don't know when we are going to. Was there really any need for Diaz to start this one for example? The risk of fatigue is our biggest threat IMO so we must rotate more often.

Anyway, the game is over, hope to see Chiesa and the likes get some minutes today, the sooner the better.

Arsenal down to 10 men for the entire second half - lovin' this so far......
Macca is having a great game. So is Szobo and Gravenberch.
For me, Robbo looks very nervy, taking the easy pass every time. It looks like he's afraid of making a howler. Gotta be the pressure he's under.

Yes, I’d sacrifice racking the GD for resting players. We have our final CL match this week and we need to rest relevant players for that one.

Agree. BTW the red card decision against the Arsenal player was ridiculous (but I'll take it!!).

I think we have to see Elliott and Chiesa early on in this half. Didn't see who else is on the bench ?
