Tottenham vs Liverpool 16:30 22/12

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby redshade » Sat Dec 21, 2024 10:00 pm

Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson is back after serving a one-match ban.

Defenders Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate are suffering from respective hamstring and knee problems and are the only confirmed absentees

----------------------------------

We could be a point off Chelsea before we start. If we want the title this is a must win game. 2 consecutive draws, we can't drop points here. Pressure will be on use as other are catching up but we must remain calm and get the job done.

Imo it is important we keep a nice gap from the others, don't give them a sniff.

I think this is a huge game to win and we have a good chance of winning on paper but we need to go out there and do it. Funnily enough we need to quiet the press as if they sniff a story like a collapse by us they will be all over it and since players read the papers could start to doubt. A nice comfortable lead in the table and the press will start writing about the scrap for CL. We start to wobble and the press will hype it and give opposing players belief and our players doubt. We need a comfortable win so everyone starts talking about the other teams, this moment seems important and pivotal in the race. Hopefully Everton beat Chelsea and Spurs do a Spurs.

Spurs are a very hit or miss team, on their day they can be a very good side, hope today is not one of those days. Also, there always seems to be some refereeing controversy when we play Spurs for some reason.

In any case, Arsenal did their job and won this weekend and I think Chelsea will too later today, and after dropping 4 points in the last 2 games we just can't afford another winless match.

As dj says Spurs are a very hit-and-miss team but on their day they can run amok so we've got to be bang at it today. Last 2 league games we've shot ourselves in the foot, 3-2 up inside the last 10 minutes against Newcastle and we blow it and then leaving ourselves 1 down and down to 10 men versus Fulham, that aint the form of champions. Everton have done us a favour today but Palace didnt yesterday, anything less than a win is a bad result, our last 2 performances have unfortunately put us in that position.
