Liverpool Football Club - Games

Just watching a bit of Southampton v Spudz right now. Dunno if it's Spudz playing well or Southampton completely dogshyte, bit of both maybe, but it's 0-4 after 25 minutes. Spudz are up for it.
I think our lads need to watch this, get our sh!t together over the week, give Southampton a good tonking, and Spudz likewise next Sunday

Yup Southampton definitely look dire and manager has been sacked.

Not too worried about this game but weekend one against Spurs is tricky. I wouldn't be surprised if they are fired up against us.

Our back 4 situation is dire going into the busy Christmas period regardless whether it's Southampton or Arsenal we're playing, the top priority is damage limitation at the back. Only Chelsea are on top form at the moment.

Wonder what squad Slot is bringing for this. I notice the u21's drew 3-3 away to Palace today. Some lads I would have expected to play not in the first 11 or on the bench. Makes me wonder if they're being kept for Southampton.

Hopefully we field as many youngsters as we can, plus the likes of Quansah, Endo, Elliot and would be nice to finally see Chiesa get a game.

We've won this competition enough times and being in the position we are in the League and CL they should take top priority. Main starting 11 should be rested for this one.

"The head coach revealed in his pre-match press conference that Jota was “not completely fit” after the weekend and had then missed team training.

“Diogo would have been definitely one that was ideal for him to play, but after the game he wasn’t completely fit, so he didn’t train with us yesterday,” Slot explained.

“So let’s see if he can train with us today. Don’t expect him to start. Hopefully he can make some minutes, but don’t expect him to start tomorrow.”

---------------------------------

Hope it is just a precaution, we need Jota fit because apart from Salah the others rarely score.

Interesting team selection. Definitely looks like Slot is working on the basis that we can score more than them

40 minutes played, 2-0 up, 78% possession but still not convincing. The back 4 are playing well which is good to see.

Good to see Darwin take his goal very impressively.

Good win that given the line up and the weather which is a big leveller, fair dues to the fans as well going all the way down there, midweek, close to Christmas in the driving wind and rain.

Impressed with Chiesa, strong, fit, mature and strong willed. Made a good impact, long may it continue.
