Girona vs Liverpool 17:45 10/12

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson could make his first appearance for the club in more than two months after being named in the squad for Tuesday's Champions League game at Girona.

The 32-year-old has been out of action since picking up a hamstring injury in Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on 5 October, with Republic of Ireland international Caoimhin Kelleher playing during his absence.

Alisson has missed 11 matches because of the injury but took part in training on Monday and was included in the 19-man travelling squad to Spain.

"So happy to be back," the Brazilian posted on social media.

Kelleher has kept five clean sheets during Alisson's absence including shutouts against Real Madrid and Manchester City.

However, he misjudged a ball into the box against Newcastle last Wednesday that allowed Fabian Schar to score the equaliser in a 3-3 draw.

Forward Diogo Jota took part in training on Monday as he makes his return from a chest injury that has kept him out since 20 October, but he did not travel to Girona.

Liverpool have won all five of their games in the league phase of the Champions League.

Play a mixture here, give some of the other lads a shot. Id start Alli, he needs some game time.

Girona haven't done very well in the CL but are decent in Spain. They did get beat by Madrid 3-0 on their own pitch during the weekend but I believe they are capable of playing well. We should still be too much for them though.

Although I'm all for playing a mixed squad, I think since we didn't play during the weekend we'll likely see a strong starting 11.

Wonder when they'll fit in the Everton game.... Fulham won't be a walk in the park at the weekend, but yeah I think it will be a fairly strong side given we've been off.
I would like to see a few youngsters given a shot.

I'm thinking probably February mate, since we're most likely going directly to the round of 16 in the CL we'll have a free slot when the CL will be playing the play-offs. So we'll probably play Everton between 10th and 20th of February.

I think we've underestimated them a bit and we didn't expect them to put up a good fight, hope we realized that they aren't a bad side at all.

Some poor performances today as well, Trent has been terrible defensively especially his marking, most of their decent chances came because of Trent's poor marking. And Nunez as usual, weakest link in the team by far. Total donkey. Szozbo has been playing well though IMO.

TAA has been wogious. I'd be scared though to have Gomez and Quansah in the back four tonight.
All round it has been a poor performance so far, Ali by far the busier of the keepers. And Nunez with a SIMPLE header in the first half to put in on a plate fluffed his lines. He's getting worse, not better. Take him off. Gakpo or even Elliott to get a run out.

Yeah definitely a pen. Thought it would have been harsh at first but looking at it he definitely took Diaz' boot off by stepping on it from behind. Accidental but a foul for sure.

Salah scores it, 1-0.
