Liverpool Football Club - Games

Team news

Everton manager Sean Dyche says there are "a couple of knocks but nothing serious" among his players ahead of the final Premier League Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Michael Keane is a doubt due to a knee injury, while Tim Iroegbunam, James Garner and Youssef Chermiti are still sidelined.

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is suspended after receiving his fifth booking of the season during the draw at Newcastle United.

It means that Arne Slot's side will be missing up to seven players, with Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley, Allison and Kostas Tsimikas still out and Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa unlikely to be involved.

---------------------------------

This is going to be a tough one, then lot will be up for it and will treat it like a final. We can't drop points consecutively. I'm nervy for this one, hoping we come through with maximum points. They've been shyte this season but at home since September they've kept it tight. This is going to be a tough battle.

The lads who came on from subs need to start, Sboz, Trent and Diaz.

Annoying as I planned my whole day around it and had things to do.

To be fair, if the match was going to be played it is banana skin weather and much more likely to have helped Everton than us. I hope it gets rescheduled when the weather is nicer  :grinning:  . Everton must have been at full speed waiting for this one and we looked more tired against Newcastle, our players are probably happier.

It's for the best, the game would have been a complete joke, its one of those garden furnature getting blown around everywhere jobs, in fact i had some work done on my bathroom recently and i havent got round to pointing the hole where the bath waste comes out the wall, the hole is only like half to three quarters of an inch bigger than the pipe in total and i was even debating wether to go through all the hassle of getting the ladders out and doing it considering what it is but half six this morning i heard a massive bang from my bathroom followed by this loud howling/whistling noise, woke up with a start thinking wtf is that, puts the light on and runs in there and my fancy new bath panel had been blown off and the rush of wind coming from the little hole where the waste is was almost unbelievable, it was like standing in a wind tunnel. Thats how strong the winds are here today.

I don't remember the last time we had a game cancelled due to bad weather. It's better for us to play in more favourable weather for sure, but is it really that bad considering it's December? I mean, we're more likely to have bad weather than good in the next 3 months or so, we're playing in England not in Spain.

I'm sorry for all those that had plans to travel for the match BUT I think the weather has done us a favour . We've got more champions league on Tuesday so I'm happy to see the team given more time to rest and recuperate instead of having to face a bunch of cloggers today.  :)

It's because its so windy mate, there have been gusts of up to 80 to 90 mph in the North West, a fella even died in nearby Lancashire when a tree fell on his car. The reporter said on Sky that EFC were concerned that when you a talking winds this strong a loose slate or unsecured hording or even a wheelie bin someone has forgot to take in could cause absolute carnage when you've got 40,000 people crammed into the tight terraced streets around Goodison.

Yep, its always disappointing to see a game get cancelled but on the flip side we should have the likes of Konate and MacAllister back for the re-arranged fixture.

Blessing in disguise, don't know when the replay will take place but until then at least we've got "easier" fixtures. Last thing we would've wanted was consecutive dropped points.

Yep, as woof says mate the weather probably did us a favour yesterday, going to Goodison for the last ever derby game there without our first choice back 4, without our first choice keeper and also missing one of our midfield regulars would have been a tough ask in initself but then throw in some extremely challenging weather conditions and we would have been up against it no two ways about it. A lot of our rivals seem to be of a similar opinion, noticed this morning a lot of Arsenal fans and even Gary Neville have been wondering why the fixture couldnt have been rearranged for today. Probably sense a bit of vunerability in us atm.

Arsenal have been held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham, that means we are 6 points clear of them with a game in hand, so basically we've got a chance to restore that 9 point lead we had.
With City dropping points as well, plus us swerving having to play Everton with a makeshift back 4 in tricky conditions - its been a very good weekend for us all in all.

Long way to go, but looking  increasingly likely that City are done.

No one is going to go there until the 115 charges are dealt with, and their current aging stars are struggling big time. I honestly think De Bruyne is done at this level.

Arsenal & City results went our way, we'll face Everton with a fit team hopefully, everyone back and firing! Chelsea look like a team to watch
