Liverpool v Real Madrid, Wed 27th Nov 2024

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Looking forward to this with a little trepidation.
RM aren't in great form lately but we always seem to bottle it against them.
They'll be without that pox Vini Jr, apparently, so that's a positive.
I just hope we go for the jugular from the start

It has been a while since we beat them, we are due revenge.

Last time we beat them was in 08/09 under Rafa.

Since then......

22/23 L 1-0 and 5-2 Round 16
21/22 L 1-0 Final
20/21 L 0-0 3-1 Quatre Final
17/18 L 3-1 Final
14/15 L 1-0 3-0  Group Stage

Stinger for me was 21/22 final, they were there for the taking, should've despatched them easily then.

I'm probably in a very small minority but with what might be the game of the season coming up just a few days after this, I'm not really that excited for a CL group stages game even if it's a big game against Real Madrid. We are due revenge but after getting beaten by them in two finals, a group stages win won't do it for me. It would be great to win of course but not much will change even if we lose this one tbh, we're most likely going directly to the Round 16 either way.

City implosion is great to watch, I just hope it continues on the weekend.

3-0 were cruising against Feyenoord and drew 3-3 lol.

Arne Slot so far has very successfully answered a lot of difficult questions. Real Madrid is probably going to be the most difficult question to date. It really is going to be as much about mentality as anything else. Generally speaking, we are not intimidated by anybody with Real Madrid probably being virtually the only exception. I’m sure that Slot will have the players heads in the right place and that will be key.

I certainly don’t agree with anything that Damian eluded to. This is another fantastic opportunity for LFC to demonstrate their quality as a power force in European football. Let’s face it how many of us expected to be at the top of the Premiership 8 points clear after 12 matches and top of the Champions League table at this stage in Slot’s first season. From a motivational standpoint, I think winning this game will further demonstrate the strength of LFC in many areas both on and off the pitch.

I think you are right, beating Madrid will instill so much confidence in the squad that we can build on to go on and dominate the rest of the campaign. There is always a team every season that other teams roll over for, hopefully this year it could be us. Beat Real and then City will certainly put a marker down.

We need to rest VVD and Mo before the City game. Otherwise. lets win 3-0 and have some fun.

Just watched the youth cup. Great game
Some great prospects, can't spell all their names or put a name to some of them.
Our captain, very strong. #11, the ex Chav, super player.
Kone-Doherty impressive too.
Pity they came out the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline

Darwin is all action tonight between running the line of a red card and scoring a couple of woirldies

...and that vital tackle should fill Conor with body full of confidence now (hopefully)
