I don't wish him well if he ***** off to Madrid, in fact I hope it all becomes tits up for him !
Memory wise I'll stick him in the bag with the likes of Owen and McManaman

When was it announced he is going

:lookaround   I guess I just did !
Maybe you have some inside info that the rest of us are unaware of ?

You're very perceptive Lallana but apparently oblivious to multiple rumours from respected sources that he's discussed a move to RM.

I’m going to highlight the obvious word

“Rumoured”

Who are these “respected” source

Not seen a single “rumour” from anyone who is respected or anyone who isn’t directly linked to Madrid

The player himself was clear when he says all his previous contracts were sorted without any noise

To be fair, we shouldn’t slag him off for leaving until he actually leaves if that is what it is. There were plenty of rumors of Gerrard going to real and Chelsea but he never did. Trent may well leave but hasn’t yet, he may decide to stay. I hope he stays and signs, he’s one of the best strikers of the ball in the world and is a true talent, obviously why Real want him. He’s actually Liverpool through and through, whether he left or not.

All that glitters is definately not gold, the likes of Fernando, Phil and Michael could tell him that. Even Hendo as well. Stay, give the best years of your career to your hometown club, play 700 plus games for us, captain us, when you finish you'll retire not only as a club legend but a scouse icon as well, the lad who showed that representing the streets where he grew up and the people he grew up with meant more to him than turning out for football's equivalent of a celebrity magazine.
When you finally hang your boots up join the coaching staff, take your badges, be in prime position to manage us because If you've got any sort of aptitude for management whatsoever you will get the job just like Stevie would have got the job if he would have done even a half decent job at Villa.
If you join Madrid five minutes after you walk out the door they'll struggle to remember your name, stay here and you'll never be forgotten.

If he leaves on a free then he'll completely ruin his liverpool legacy. He should sign a contract so the club at least gets something back from all the time they've spent polishing his skills and turning him into the great Right back he's become.

Even Jude signed a new contract so Dortmund could get over £100m from Madrid for him.

Unfortunately, when it comes to transfers the players hold all the aces. Both Coutinho and Suarez signed contracts shortly prior to leaving. This was an act of decency by both players and it has to be said that the contracts were brilliantly negotiated by LFC. I wonder if the likes of the Mbappé deal with both PSG and Real Madrid have changed the landscape. If a player knows that a club is prepared to pay a massive signing on fee to remain at his current club or when he leaves for another club. In the case of Mbappé I seem to remember that PSG paid him €130m for a one year contract to prevent him from going to Real Madrid. In any event he still went to Real Madrid after that contract expired and no doubt received a massive signing on fee. It’s very easy to suggest that Trent should sign a contract as a debt of gratitude even if he intends to leave. However, it most definitely works both ways and would LIVERPOOL have enjoyed the same levels of success during the Klopp era without Trent. Should he decide to leave  I won’t shed a tear. I will simply say thank you for the memories. Trent, however needs to remember that he will be going from LFC where he is adored by both the fans and the club to a place where he will be little more than a number and certainly will not receive the same level of adoration.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years
are in brackets)
LFC £300m (£420m)
Everton +£33m (£211m)
Arsenal £557m (£853m)
Spurs £545m (£657m)
Chelsea £966m (£1072m)
Man City £165m (£833m)
Man United £650m (£1204m)

I agree he'll just be a number there like many others. Real Madrid fan base are fickle, your loved and hated fairly quick. As you said mate, his loved here and is heading towards becoming a legend.

What can real offer? Only think I could think of is better climate. If it's trophies, he could challenge and win them here.

I can't see him here lads, shame will be losing a local lad, hopefully Bradley could take over.

If he wants to go, let him go now. Cash in on £20m, buy a new rb and look to the future. Then if we win anything this season Trent will have to live with not being part of the success.

Since the 2012–13 season, a player needs to have played in a minimum of five matches for a title-winning team to qualify for a medal. This is down from the previous standard of 10 matches played.

I'm fed up with the Trent situation. We sold Keegan, Rush, Torres, Robbie and yet we survived, Trent is not the centre of the Liverpool universe.  :Oo:
