Was just looking how his been since leaving us, performing at mediocre level with sheff United. However his been injured for a quite a bit also.

Why is it some lads blitz the youth league, labelled top talent and once they enter the pro league they don't cut it. Usually end up leagues lower and play average over there. I just don't get it, is it genetics?

I can understand though that youth teams and pros is completely different. In pros you can't only rely on pace whereas in youth set up you could probably get away with it or use it as your main asset.

Anyone with more knowledge on this matter maybe could shed more light.

Jordan Ibe is another one - he's only 27 but now playing for Hayes & Yeading United in the non-league.

Ben Woodburn was also hyped up to the hills - he's only ever scored 8 senior goals and is now in league 2.

It’s a massive step up from youth football to prem league and even championship and there are plenty that haven’t made the step up

It also comes down to confidence and maybe a bit of luck

Solanke for example went to the right club and got himself settled early

Brewster went to the wrong club for him , was never set up for the way he played

Bear in mind only 0.0001% of those who start at club academies make it to the first team of any club. Michael Own and Robbie Fowler are rarer than hens teeth.
Brewster simply wasn't sufficiently gifted to make it to the top. C'est la vie. Solanke is incredibly lucky to make a reverse a failing career - kudos.
