Despite all the misses and offsides you still have to give credit to his intensity and positivity. He does need to be a cleaner finisher but does always put himself about. It’s just his brain… typical Nunez, scores the tough ones where he doesn’t have time to think and misses the sitters.

Anyway great result and we keep going  :buttrock

Great result. Doing brilliantly so far in this tough fixture period. Bring on Shitee115 and RM !! Southampton away next before that.

I know Nunez frustrates the life out of most of us but credit where it is due he put in a hell of a shift and also provides useful help in defence when needed. The lads know exactly what is required of them. Just look at Lucho’s tracking back with a great tackle late on with Villa in a goal threatening position when it was 1-0. It is that sort of determination and desire that wins trophies. We may not necessarily have the best team in the premiership but the sum of the parts is probably the best in the premiership. I have always believed in synergy and this team are currently demonstrating it in bucket loads.

How much would we get for Trent in January if RM want him ?? Surely to God we’re not going to mess about and let him go on a free next summer. He is only 26. We cannot make that mistake again. I know it works both ways but Trent owes a lot to LFC and the very least he could do is sign a contract and then be sold in the same way as Suarez so that we can receive the best possible price. Hopefully the lad has a little bit more about him than Mbappé who is simply out for every single penny he can possibly get !!

Keep it going lads.

I don't know how we're gonna replace Virg and Salah if they leave. I think Trents mind is made up and he's off to Madrid, but he can easily be replaced with Slot playing more defensive fullbacks.

Great result and all credit to the team and Slot for such a smooth hand over from Klopp.

My only worry remains that we continue to play the core players in every game and this will take it's toll as the league and CL continues into the new year. The owners must realise from our being top of both the EPL and CL that the have to bring in a couple of players in January to maintain the momentum.

This is my concern, too.

Burnout wrecked our season last year and it'll do it again unless we bring in new players.

Different calmer tactics , less intense , more patient , players conserving energy , players also being rotated

Don’t think we will see the same burn out

It’s a different style that will help the players as well

IMO we can't afford to lose 2 or 3 key players (for an extended period), Virgil, Mo and also Gravenberch to an extent, which are the only 3 that haven't really been rotated for obvious reasons. Everybody else has a decent cover thankfully, and they've also been rotated, Jota played at the start, now it's Nunes, Szobozlai played all the time now it's Jones mostly, and Gakpo hardly played at the start but now he sometimes playes instead of Diaz. Tsimikas playes instead of Robo at times, and Kelleher and now Bradley instead of injured Alisson and Trent. So really it's 3 or 4 players that we haven't rotated (I think MacAlister has also not been rested very often but is not a super key player IMO).

So unless one or more of those 3 key players is out for a long time, and thankfully they rarely get injured, or unless we have a huge injury crisis with like 10 players being out at the same time, I think we should be fine in that regard. The chances od burnout are smaller with Slot as well, since as Lallana mentioned we're playing with less intensity now.

My worry is going deeper in UCL and still aiming for EPL glory, just hope we stay injury free.
