Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby 7_Kewell » Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:27 pm

Great set of results.

City's next game is Brighton away.

Arsenal is Chelsea away.

If we can beat Villa at home, we could end next weekend 5 clear of City and 10 ahead of Arsenal

And how the hell are Forest 3rd?

Very very important 3 points today. We weren't at our best but Brighton are a decent team so its a bit unfair to say we played poorly and not that Brighton were playing some good stuff in the first half at least. Which makes our comeback in the second half even more incredible, so credit to our boys and also to Slot for making good changes.

Massive comeback and massive win for us, we really did turn the screw on our rivals today big time, Arsenal in particular really are going to be under the hammer from now on, any more slip up's from them and they are going to be staring down the barrel of a 10+ point gap. Problem with that type of margin is that you are essentially playing de facto title deciders every week and the problem with playing de facto title deciders every week is that the constant pressure starts to affect the decision making process. Pressure makes players, even top players, do things they normally wouldnt do, they start making mistakes, they start snatching at chances they'd normally put away in their sleep and start making bad decisions at the back etc. Is it all over? Nowhere near it - but we are in an unbelievably good position. In fact if we don't win it from here it's going to feel like a massive opportunity blown.

Should we have sold Mo for £200 million 12 months ago? He scores goals but Chris Wood of Forest and Brayan Mbeumo of Brentford seem to score as many without the support of a very good LFC side. Imagine if they played for us.

It would be a shame to lose him for any period of time but Gomez yesterday showed that he's more than capable of being a good replacement. Could have been motm with just one half played.

Chris Wood is as old as Salah or maybe older and doesn't contribute a lot to overall play apart from poaching goals. Decent striker but not our standard. Mbeumo is a good shout, however I'm also on the fence if he's of LFC's standard.

If we continue this till Jan and manage to beat City in few weeks. Owner have to open their purse in winter window. You can't let this epic opportunity go. Tight b.stards will probably be thinking let's get the title for pennies and not spend.

We are a decent unit but for us to charge to glory we need few improvements.

Update on Konate, he says on his instagram that he did a scan on his arm and that it is fine, nothing broken or anything. Said he'd be ready for our next game. Good news that. I'd still give Gomez the start against Leverkusen though, he deserves it.

Slot's announced Konate is available for the LK game.

Lallana, yes. We should have never turned away £200 million. Showed a complete lack of imagination. Nuts.
