arsenal v LIVERPOOL Sun 27th Oct 4.30pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

City go top courtesy of an unconvincing 1-0 home win against Southampton. Arsenal aren't looking all that convincing themselves atm and are going to be missing one or two of their star men so we need to go there, be brave and get after them. Yes a draw at the Emirates wouldnt be the worst result but you get the feeling that if we are going to win this thing then we are going to have to beat the likes of this crowd on their own patch.

Man I'm so ***** that City are going through one of their worst forms right now in God knows how long but they had the luck to be playing the worst teams in the league in this period and although they struggled they still managed to get on top of the league today.

Still, Rodri who is IMO probably the best midfielder in the world is out for the season (probably why they're playing so bad) and de Bruyne once he comes back will get injured again, so we just need to keep putting pressure on them and they will eventually start dropping points.

Arsenal is another that isn't going through their best of forms plus they'll be missing key players like yakka said, so this might be a good time to play them on their own pitch. We passed the Chelsea test and proved that we're not only capable of beating smaller teams, now's the time to up the ante and show that we mean bussiness by beating Arsenal.

That City result has p*ssed me off. Somehow they still manage to get max points while being poor.

Facing Arsenal now has similarities when we faced them last season. We were top on form and had chance to increase gap. Let's hope history does not repeat itself.
They've few players out so my guess it will be a cautious encounter. It will be a draw or a 1-0 either way.

The 2 games against this mob last year were frustrating as hell, as RS alluded to in his post they absolutely wiped the floor with us in the corresponding fixture to this one at the Emirates, it was a massacre, a proper Little Big Horn/St.Valentine's Day job, we even had to endure a rare comedy moment between Virgil and Ally which was tough to watch given both will undoubtably go down as bona fide all time greats of this club. In 6 or 7 years as team mates they've only dropped 2 clangers together, one was in this fixture last year.
The game at Anfield was equally as frustrating but in a different way, they somehow managed to escape with a point partially because the ref decided to change the rules to allow Odergaard to handle the ball in his own box and because we somehow managed to blow a 5 on 1 break that most ale house teams would have converted when captain Real Madrid himself hit the bar when it was easier to score.
We deffo owe them one, lets hope we can not only win but rub their noses in it a bit too. Of course any scrappy arl win down there would be amazing but a convincing 3 or 4 nil really would be nice after the events of last year.

Not really bothered how we win this. If it is as ugly as fk that will do me. Slot is on a crazy run and it would be fantastic to see it continue.

Big call to leave Dom out, i know Curtis is flying atm and Dom hasnt been at his best with the ball at his feet but all the same he still puts a hell of a shift in. Curtis is going to have to go some to replicate Dom's work rate.

We should be smarter than to fall for the Arteta's Dark Art...Virgil getting an unnecessary yellow with only a couple of minutes into the game
