FT Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea

Not a great game at home by any means but we are back on top. Ref was pure shíte tho

Would be perfect week if Wolves could hold on for another 30secs   :no

The table says we're top. Can't disagree with that. But the Chavs put up a stern test today. And we weren't totally convincing right from the start.

annoying about the city result, but we've put daylight between us and Arsenal and that will racket up the pressure when we meet them next weekend.

A few of our lads are off the boil at the moment, which is a worry (Robbo and Szob). I'm also not all that convinced by Kelleher, but good to see Trent put in a solid defensive performance and Jones with a good game.

We've now got a tricky CL away game and then Arsenal away. A big 7 days coming up.

Remember...this is our game right after the international week. Arne learned his lesson and deployed his assets well...Macca, Diaz and Darwin all got rested

Thought we did alright considering the opposition, in a game like this one it's usually good enough to just win. Ref didn't help with some horrid decisions against us either but we got the important 3 points at the end and that's all that matters.

Good to see that we continue to be very difficult to score against. Jones quite easily MOTM with a very impressive performance. Hopefully, he is learning unlike Nunez under Slot’s tutelage. Darwin currently looks like a £8m player rather than £80m !! EXCELLENT RESULT - TOP OF THE LEAGUE !!

Good result from a hard working performance. Must admit, despite the Anfield support, at times I wondered who the home team was.
The lads did well and a promising mature performance from Curtis  :buttrock

Without being amazing i thought Nunez gave us a bit of much needed physicality up top when he came on.

Great win, first of our toughest fixtures out the way in this torrid run. Like other thought it was okay ish performance but 3 points is key atm. Jammy City had to score, never-ending me keep going. If we can pull off a result at the Emirates all eyes will be on us.

Lol I think maybe fans miss Klopp style heavy metal footy and are finding slot style boring.

I think as fans we have to be a bit more realistic sometimes and accept that every now and again we are going to come across teams who have got really good players and it's not always going to be easy or possible to play these teams off the park. That doesnt mean we cant hold our own or even shade it against these teams which is what we did today. God knows how Chelsea manage to comply with the financial fair play regs, they have spent the equivalent of some small countries GDP on players and the likes of Palmer and Fernandez are no mugs they really aren't. Indeed how many Liverpool fans wouldnt like to see Cole Palmer running around in a red shirt, not many i'd say.
What we did today wins titles, a good, solid win against a team that won't be far away from finishing in the top 4 this year. Big well done to Arne and the lads.Lets see if we can do the same next week.

Huge difference so far between Klopp and Slot is now we are a lot tighter at the back, something we were not with Klopp and a surprise after what we heard about how Slot likes to play. Three goals in eight matches is not bad at all and this is the same team that last year gifted every team a goal in the first 20 minutes. Long may it continue whether boring or not. If we continue to let in three goals every 8 matches (I know unlikely to happen) then we will win the PL at a canter. Teams with the best defense usually win the league.

What I’ve noticed so far is there seems to be a calm confidence in the team, compared to Arsenal that seem to react to each win as if they won the World Cup. City are masters of peaking at the right time and we look on that path.

After years of looking fantastic on the eye  but not the amount of trophies we should have won, I’ll take a more conservative approach.

Slot's still learning the job, everything's looking great so far.
