Slot saying he took Quansah off at Half time for losing too many duels. I kinda love that brutal honesty.. no wonder Quansah looked frustrated. At least he's showing if you don't play to standard he'll take you off.

Good first run out for the season though against a side that will probably get relegated. First half we were poor but showed up in the second. Too soon to be able to tell anything.

What I do know is that we need to rotate Jota and Szobozlai as often as possible. Jota to keep him from getting injured for as long as possible and Sozbo from fatigue.

Likewise I thought the 1st half was really poor and the dodgy passing wasn't good for the nerves. Didn't think we threatened them at all during that half and certainly not from set pieces.

Much better 2nd half but you could see them tiring and that enabled us to get ahead. Good goal from Jota and Mo with another record!! Delighted we kept a clean sheet as well.

Well in Arne!!  :buttrock

This, I thought under Klopp a lot of them was living off reputation or loyalty so good to see he's not favouring certain players. That will only make us better.

First game is never beautiful. Just about the 3pts. If it loks like this after 5-7 games, then I'd start to worry.

You’d worry if we won 2-0?  ???

Great start, finally 3 points to kick off a season. First half was flat but what I liked how Slot got them going in the 2nd half, made necessary changes and we won the match. Long may this continue

Maybe he's talking about the 1st half performance.

There is going to be days this season where it doesn't go to plan and we look off the pace. It's bound to happen at some point but I think we will deal with it if it happens. Slot is a good manager capable of doing something but can't be expecting him to win the league/ CL in his first season. Top 4 and if we got a good run in CL I'd be more than happy. Don't make the same mistake Klopp did and push for everything. Throw the under 21's and fringe players out in the Cups if needs be.

Don’t agree Red. Arne Slot has joined a club in very good shape. He will be getting paid a shed load of money. I see absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t expect to see him winning trophies in his first season.

Great result against Ipswich who proved tricky in the first half. We certainly looked impressive in the second half.

I get it, it’s just some posters only have time to post negative stuff rather than a balanced approach.

I think it's a big ask myself Dev.  There is more games this year and we haven't got the squad to challenge for everything till the end. Don't think his wage has a lot to do with it tbh as Jurgen was getting a hell of a lot more and we still burned out. He's on 8mil euro a year and Klopp was getting 17.5mil euro. If that's the logic then Klopp was massively underachieving which isn't the case. If we are going to push for it all then our best shot is that Slots man management is better and they are able to go the distance this time around.
