This game normally has a nice family day out in the sun feel and quite a few fans who normally struggle to get tickets will be going to Wembley on Sunday. I’m glad we have this game as it effectively replaces a friendly and is much better preparation for the start of the season. It’s obviously going to be far more intense than a friendly. Although maybe not quite as intense as a Premier League or Champions League game against a top 6 team. With Kompany now gone and Laporte a doubt for the game that could leave them with Stones and Otamendi at CB which is something we could look to exploit. Teams can name 7 subs and use 6 of them so I’d expect the 4 outfield players that returned to training on Monday to start on the bench and come on at some point in the second half. I think Klopp will go for the below side.

Klopp isn't happy with the fact our season starts on 4 August...some of our key players (Salah, Mane and Bobby) only returned to pre-season training on monday 

Hopefully this gives a few of the other lads the chance to shine. I'm going for 2-2, with us winning on penalties

Not sure what's the justification to drop Matip tbh? I like Gomez but he has to be picked by merit

Our back 4 are getting bullied today...seems too easy for City with all the through pass between the gaps

considering our first game is this coming Friday we look in a very bad shape...Too many players out of form and the team lacks any cohesion...Gomez/Hendo terrible

Too many players back too late and lacking match fitness. We've had way too many players out with the Copa America and African Cup of nations.. And you can see we're 2 yards behind City everywhere on the field.

More reason for Klopp to have bought some reinforcements in.

Yeah, second best to almost everything. Most players look like they're not match fit. We have no one to bring on to help us either.
