Where in the pecking order mr biscan

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

After another good display last night how do you see Biscan in the pecking order now?
Is he pushing up alongside Hamman now? I never thought i would be sayng that!
But he is starting to loose that joke image a little now everytime he plays he seems to be full of confidence, and getting better!
I still think he is 4th choice but i would seriously consider him part of our squad now! I think he should be leading the Carling cup crusade now until we get to the steps at the millenium stadium!
Young Welsh should now be 5th and Diou should be as far away from Anfield as possible!

How is everyone else's view on IGOR now?

...and then what? dump him?

It always makes me mad when a club fields youngsters in a cup, them kids played right until the final then big surprise, they would be dumped and the usual first team would take over - load of ******.
Lets see if Rafa sticks with the young stars if we get to the final, I think not.

rant over.

I'd like to see Igor and Alonso in the starting line up :)

...just to add......

...can you imagine the young lads winning cup winners medals & our strong first team (Gerrard, Alonso, Garcia etc) not??

There would be uproar in the camp!

Yes I agree yesterday was another good performance and I think Biscan is starting to turn a few heads with the abilities he has been showing, I thought he ran the midfield yesterday..I think Diou proved yesterday how poor he is and surely he has got to be sold or released in Januray..I would say that Biscan is 4th Choice at the minute but is not far behind Hamman.

For me hes the 3rd choice after Gerrard and Xavi. Hamman makes a lot of mistakes and becomes slower as time (years) go by

It's a hard question cos SG is obviously the first name on the team sheet and I feel second is Xabi regards to midfield, last night Biscan was fantastic, he gots the ball and did something positive everytime, the can only recall him giving the ball away once :)

Lee j

When i said the steps at the Millenium stadium i meant the ones he walks up to collect the trophy!
I would keep many younsters in but would pull out the ones who arent performing greatly and have stars on the bench!

I sort of agree with that, that the youngsters got us there so they deserve to play in the final.. But if we lost would you question it

Igors renaissance has been nothing short of incredible. Jim said that he saw something in him before but there won't have been many who agreed with him, certainly not me thats for sure. I don't see him as an understudy to Alonso, much more as Gerrards sidekick. I think he was very unlucky not to start against Birmingham and must be knocking on the door again for the Palce game.
I see Gerrard and Alonso as the obvious one/two with Igor tracking Stevie and Didi tracking Xabi.

No, on the question of who should play, I'd stick with the youngsters all the way. Imagine playing Arsenal in the final and putting a full strength team out? It's a no-win situation. If they beat you you get laughed off, if you win everyone (including us to be honest) says "so what". Since everyone's going on about how good their kids are, imagine what a scalp it would be to beat them with our kids.
Just about the only rider I'd put on this philosophy would be if we played Chelski. I think then you'd have to look at it.

I was thinking about the same issue before I saw this thread...my opinion is that we should stick with essentially the same team that got us there, perhaps fortified a couple of positions as befitting the occasion (the final/semifinals that is).
Someone should give Diao a ride to the nearest airport. He don't even deserve a place in the reserve team (I did not manage to catch yesterday's game but I am speaking about his previous performance). I think this fact is clear to Rafa. Let's see how he deal with the Kewell's issue...
