dissapointing so far tbh, i can see a red card or perhaps 2 in this match

Our midfield is too negative and Ibe needs to pass more instead of trying to beat his man every time.. Benteke is also isolated up front and he's never going to do much with the ball hoofed his way.

Clyne looks good though...

Awright lads and lasses. Happy new season to you all. I am in a natural history museum in the south of France at the moment and missing the game :-(, doesn't look like I am missing much though ;-)

Am surprised Can didn't get a start. Think he's gonna be a key player for us

Anybody notice Butland smother the ball at the end of the half, both hands around it, then leave it on the ground, and then pick it up again? He can't do that. Thats an indirect free kick inside the box.

Anyway.. We're playing Benteke like we did Carroll-just hoofing it and it's making it hard for Benteke to do anything considering every ball is at his head. Considering we have a relatively attacking side we should look a bit more exciting, but it's been pretty bland. Gomez looks terrified when he's on defense, especially with anything in the air. Very out of place, but he looks really confident with the ball at his feet. Hope to see Moreno in for him early in the second half, and Firmino in as well, probably for Lallana. I think Lallana has been more lively than most but seems to be struggling.

And Milner is controlling it for us right now. Been our best player today.

I hope BR has a plan B, because plan A doesn't work and we'll be losing this if he carries on with this hoofball b0ll0cks

Gomez just committed a suicidal mistake. Playing him away in this fixture is a head scratcher...
Lallana got the ball a few times but been pushed off too easily by their defenders...

I know Gomez looked decent in the pre-season matches, but dropping a league 1 player into a premiership match is a bit of a strange one. Mind you, he looks no worse than Lovern...

I'm no fan of Lovren but to be fair to him he's probably been our best defender, one particular header at the edge of our box where he went through 2 Stoke players to get his head on the ball was reminiscent of Ron Yeats.
Imo our problems are stemming from midfield, Milner and Henderson are busy but they aren't getting a grip of the game, as for our AM's Lallana is too lightweight for this type of encounter and Ibe is getting crowded out.
I have been impressed with Benteke though, he's an absolute tank on the ball and deserves better service than what he's been getting.

I would get Hendo out this invisible man act is even worse then playing shiite..2nd half better with Coutinho ,Lallana and Ibe more active and direct ,pace has also upped a bit.
