Should we play more negative in December?

How would all of you approach the games against Spurs, Chelsea and City?
Would you stick with the open attacking tactics that have seen us concede 8 goals in 4 games and score 13 goals.

A part of me thinks we should stick to our current game but another part of me thinks that the bigger clubs will smash us to pieces away from home.  (if Hull can do it)

I wouldn't mind seeing us go negative on it and looking to nick a result or 2.  (Especially considering our injuries)

                             Mignolet
                     Toure  Skrtel  Sakho
Sterling                                          Johnson
                      Allen Lucas Alberto
                            Coutinho

                              Suarez

With this formation we could potentially be a bit more solid and Sterling / Johnson could try forward to counter attack and link up with Coutinho and Suarez.

Might not be great to watch but we could set out to frustrate knowing that Coutinho and Suarez can get goals if we get the ball forward.

Would prefer us to follow Everton's example and attack. They showed no fear against Manure and Arsenal and their high pressing style proved very effective.

Against those three sides I'd consider 4-5-1 sensible counter attacking footy.

I wouldn't complain if we drew all three games, whilst some may think it would mean we've lost points, those three sides will all be challenging us for a CL place imo it's vital we don't give away three points to any of them and who knows, in the form he's in, keep it tight don't concede and Suarez could maybe give us all a xmas present .

Think I'd do the same.  Pack the defence and midfield and hope Suarez / coutinho can nick something up front.
I think we're likely to concede too many soft goals if we approach those games like we did against Norwich / west ham at Anfield.

I don't like this approach. It's just not our game. I'd go with this (pretty much what we've been playing for the past few games):

                                Mignolet

        Johnson   Skrtel/Sakho   Agger    Flanagan

                                  Lucas
               Hendo/Alberto   Allen

                   Sterling            Coutinho
                               Suarez

I also think that it's about time we start playing both Sakho and Agger in a back 4. They're both lefties and they've never played together in a back 4 before but I'd start both of them against Spurs despite the risks.

if hendo is out as well then we are right in the mire, i wouldnt even know which way to go, i dont think alberto would be that effective in the middle of the park in a big away game. i think the game would just pass him by, it would be almost like being down to 10 men.
this is why the likes of city, chelsea and the other teams with large squads do so well, a couple of injuries and we are right down to the bare bones. what a time to have an injury crisis, the most important (and pivotal) few weeks of our season.
i can see rodgers going with 3 at the back.

I'm fairly sure Agger has played DM for us before.  Not ideal of course but if we needed some experience and cover I'm sure he'd be up to it.  Might be less risky than throwing Alberto in there in a big away game.

I think Rodgers will field an attacking side against Spurs and depending on the success or failure of that game he may tweak things for Chelsea / City.

Play negative? your joking right?

Spurs, we are miles ahead of them, and Chelsea, and City struggled against Southampton. The games we have lost is simply because our players got into their mind all they had to do was turn up.

We should play as we have done already, and fecking batter them all !

All I read yesterday from our fans was how we were going to get beat by Spurs and how City would batter us by 5 or 6 in a few weeks.

Have some faith.

Well thank god Rodgers doesn't listen to my opinions!  :D

Yesterday was an absolutely brilliant display and I admit that I didn't think we had it in us

Beggars belief sometimes, imagine Benny the Noon's face when we won so convincingly last night!

More good news watching Aguero limp off injured and leaving the stadium on crutches.
