my little girl has a better understanding of football than you( she's 10 but is able to see the importance of Lucas to our team)

Yeah, so you keep saying...
Just to clarify...
Do you think Lucas can go past a man? Is quick? Does score and set goals up? Is excellent in the air? Has an outstanding first touch and can pass a ball more than 30 yards?

I can see Lucas as the lynch pin of the midfield at this moment...I certainly don't expect him to score because that is not why he is on the pitch...he wins more than his fair share of headers, so the stats say...he is quicker than you give him credit for probably because he reads the game better ...he does have a good first touch..if a pass requires 30 yards then I've no doubt he would try it...and he is also big and f**kin hard.......
And thankfully the people that matter value him , those that are clueless will forever remain so

"He's not their to score"?

He's playing centre midfield lad. Not in goal. Its not unreasonable to expect 3 or 4 goals a season from a midfielder. Lucas struggles to get 1.
He occassionally wins headers against average midfielders... wouldn't exactly say he's good in the air though really, he doesn't exactly dominate in either box or win them all in the centre of the park.
He's quicker than I give him credit for?

Really? He's average premier league paced at very best.
Reads the game? Really?

Big difference in reading a game and reacting to something. Lucas reacts, he doesn't pin teams back in their own half like Alonso used to do by picking up clearances and recycling possession in the opposition half. He also doesn't find players in threatening positions that allows pressure to build.
He's big and f*cking hard? He's about 5'9/10 and probably ten stone wet through... dead big!

(another Steven Gerrard referance)
Apart from that, good post!
