Yep ,no excuse for Sturridge lack of hard work in recent games. (unless he isn't fit). And for some odd reason his football intelligence dropped dramatically. Hope he doesn't see Suarez as competition but as a partner.

I liked the formation and in a way it was an experimental night from that perspective and it looked promising.

Going to United is not easy for any side and you need the breaks there to get anything and frankly we just never
have even with our greatest teams.

We have a decent side but quickly run out of options when we get a few injuries and with Agger, Johnson and Couthino
side lined, 3 definite starters, we don't have ready made equal quality cover and the bench is young kids.

With Lucas not being good enough and Gerrard finding it harder to cover ground the 3 centre backs may be a solution in
the short term in a throw back to the Roy Evans era. Gives us that more solid feel with width and flexibility in attack.
