Granted, it's not be the most prestigious cup around but means the FA cup is our only real chance of silverware this season

It was a big chance for us to win silverware - if we have any aspirations for CL then we have to be a lot better

That's a second string UTD out there and we were really only missing Coutinho

Everybody put in a shift, we lost , sh'it happens, get over it.

Well in any other day i'd agree with you but Manu played a ***** poor 2nd team that were there for the taking.

Thought we were unlucky to be honest or if you want to be critical maybe we were not clinical enough in the final third. Had a feeling Manure would come out 2nd half and improve because there were utter pants in the first half and could only really improve. That's why we really needed a goal or two to show for our play in the first half. Disappointing, as we deserved more and feels like we let them off the hook. Positive was having Suarez back. Even when he is rusty, he still showed some quality moments but can see it will take him a game or two to get back to his usual self. Don't think any one had that bad a game to be honest. Sturridge maybe still not fully fit

Couldn't give a f'uck how many domestic cups we're out of this season, the BIG prize is a top four finish. Anyone who wants to beat their chest and proclaim that we are Liverpool and should be competing for everything really need a reality check.

Further progress in the League Cup or a squad that's not worn out and challenging for a place in the Champions League next season ? I know which I'd prefer.

i thought we played quite well, we were the better side but fell asleep at one corner which cost us.
suarez and sturridge dont look 100% fit but even so i thought they caused united a lot of problems.
much much better than the swansea and southampton performances.

Typical comment after a loss in the cup.....

I know at least of one person which thinks the complete opposite...he wears the Manager suit btw. BR played his strongest lineup with one intent in mind. We went for a win and he HE didn't give a fck over excuses as "Domestic Cup" or "Worn out"..

Disappointing result however a good performance in which we created a lot of chances and half chances. Lack of coordination between our attacking parts was visible but we can ride on the positives for the next league match.

That was our strongest available 11 and it couldn't beat the UTD second string - reality check is our squad isn't good enough to get a top 4 place.

Domestic cups give the club success and a possible route into Europe.

I couldn't care less about this cup before the match started, but we played with our best 11 available while the mancs had van Persi and Fellaini out for this one plus they managed to even rest a few. They were just horrible and we should have performed better.

We did - but it didn't end their run in a competition and in another month ago it will mean nothing unless we turn our form back around again

We got beaten by our biggest rival and knocked out of a competition by their second string team - ill post the positives about that when I find it.

well there were some positive signs tonight, any team united put out is tough to play especially at old trafford and i thought that we were clearly the better side.

Didn't think we were the better side at all - Suarez created some chances and we had a few other chances that were wasted but better team ? Not for me. At no time did I feel we were in control in the game , at no time did I see our midfield control possession for a significant amount of time. Every now and then we produced a little bit of slick passing but just not enough quality at the end of the day
