Juan Mata not on the bench again for Chelsea today.

To me that would show intent and greatly improve the side. He'd cost a fair wack but there are players we could offload to raise the wages required and the fee.

He fits the style we play, can score and create and link up. Can play left or right side.

I think we'd be silly to not put the feelers out.

we have already coutinho who plays in his position, imo the next player we bring in should be a CM to replace gerrard who seems to be getting dramatically older by the week.

If Mata is available there would be a queue of clubs looking at him and we would be a long way down the list - no chance of getting Mata

Would be immense however he is out of our league. You can bet your bottom dollar the likes of PSG, Monaco will be interested. and I think if Chelsea were to sell they would prefer he went abroad.

he is doing nothing, if someone offered a bit of energy they`d be an upgrade because atm gerrard is actually a liability. given the pace of the game these days you cant afford to carry passengers in a 3 man midfield.
the midfield hasnt put their stamp on one game this season, every single game we end up on the back foot. there is no energy in our midfield and we are second to every loose ball, if a game becomes stretched we are the ones defending for our lives.

It's not an argument it's reality - Mata is one of the best in the prem - a top level CL player who would be chased by top CL clubs.

1. We couldn't afford his fee

2. We couldn't afford his wages

3. He wouldn't come to us because of our lack of CL

What exactly would it be that would appeal to Mata that would even make him think for a split second of speaking to us !
