Wisdom won't be able to cope with the attacks of the mancs, but I hear that Skrtel will be fit so that's good to hear.

skrtel will be physically fit but he`s hardly played any football, he`s going to be pretty rusty.
but as you say there`s no way wisdom could cope with van persie and rooney at this stage of his career so i think we`ll have to hope skrtel hits the ground running.

Skrtel will also be unable to cope with them - only chance we have is finding a way to cut the supply.

Yet he lost Benteke in the last couple of mins which nearly cost us bar a great save from Mignolet

I actually think that piece of play (if I'm thinking the same as the two of you) was great defending by Toure, albeit last ditch, it made the area that Benteke had to strike at much smaller than it would have been if Toure didn't try to get back

Where Benteke hit that half volley and Mig palmed it away with his left hand at the near corner?

That's the one, and you're right it was good pressure from Toure, it was all he could do since Agger lost Benteke.

I think having Toure in the team has only highlighted how soft we are back there in the middle. His performances have made the vice captain's performances look decidedly average and even though Danny isn't the best defensive defender there ever was, Toure's performances have only highlighted this.

I think Agger would have got better playing alongside a leader like Toure as the season went on but now this injury will just disrupt their partnership no end, and suffice to say, I'm not confident going into the game with the skanks at the weekend without Kolo.  :(

I share your concerns, mancs probably sniffing out 3 points here with our defensive issues.

He has torn the groin before 4 years ago and was out for two months without an op - hopefully it's not in the same area requiring an operation. The club haven't said how long he is out for yet but rumours are from 1 month to 8 weeks dependant on how quickly he recovers.

Liverpool FC have received some positive news regarding Kolo Toure’s groin  injury.

There were fears that the  32-year-old centre-back  would be sidelined for up to  six weeks after he was  stretchered off in Tuesday  night’s Capital One Cup tie  against Notts County and  left Anfield on crutches.

However, the damage  isn’t that severe and Toure  has responded well to  treatment at Melwood.

The  defender has yet to concede  defeat in his battle to be fit  for Sunday’s visit of  Manchester United and will  be reassessed today.

Guess news of an upcoming new CB is a great healing motivator

Wouldn't risk him for Sunday no matter his fitness level. Better be safe with this one.
