Martin O'Neill would be my first choice -
he won two Worthington Cups with Leicester and if he got us playing like
that legendary Leicester team or his currently unstoppable Celtic side we'd
be Championship contenders without a shadow of a doubt. What do you think ?
I know Rangers won the Scottish title last season playing better football
than Celtic and it might look like Mr. O'Neill can't even dominate the
Scottish league nevermind the Premiership, but I think last year was just a
blip, a bad season. Isn't every manager allowed one bad season now and again
?
Of course they are.
My second choice would be Toshack. Why ? Because I saw him on Sky Sports
last week talking to Richard Keys and I really liked the look of him.
(Before you ask, I don't know why a top level manager of his calibre is
working for Sky Sports as a pundit)
Toshack used to be the Real Madrid manager you know, he won seven titles and
four Champions Leagues for them. He also played for Liverpool back in the
sixties when we won the European Cup in Rome. *cough* He's definitely a good
candidate.
