Liverpool v Melbourne Victory July 24th

Liverpool Football Club - Games

it was a good run out for the lads even if the end result wasnt that flattering.
ibe was the pick of the bunch again and took up some great positions and runs. good to see suarez again in a red shirt but it looked like he was far from happy and barely celebrated the goal.

Good assist though. I could deal with a grumpy Suarez if he still does that every week!

I know it's pre-season but I thought with one or two exceptions we were very poor, hardly got out of second gear for most of the game.

The crowd were magnificent and deserved far more than we gave them.

The support and the YNWA was better than the football the team served up

Pre-season: fitness before performance.

That rendition of YNWA was something else.

MV did themselves no harm either.

Wisdom was the pick of the bunch for me. Solid.

Unbelievable support.  :bowdown  :bowdown  :bowdown

I watched Liverpool in Toronto this time last year, there was nowhere near that support. I watched them in Anfield vs Newcastle last season and it was quiet.

That was superb.

It was great to have the club in Melbourne finally but I expected a bit more ..well...erm....attacking from a Rodgers team.

I hate to say it but Man U did a much better job of putting on a show in Sydney.

Have to say I'll be pretty surprised if Suarez is still a Liverpool player by the end of the window. Seems pretty intent on sulking and moping from what I saw after the game. All the subs were doing warm down running excercises in line with each other..then about 25 metres behind every time by himself was Suarez. The player getting all the attention from the crowd and the only one not waving or giving a thumbs up. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it?

Doesn't sound like you're reading too much into it from me.

He did look sulky during the game, must admit, that's pretty bad he did that after though.

For me this is more disappointing than anything that has gone before ,and possibly something reds fans wont forgive.
Suarez was renowned for giving 100% in every game and the Kop loved him for it ,but his disinterested gait and sullen
demeanour in Melbourne was probably the straw that broke the camels back both for the manager and the fans.

Your fans were absolutely fantastic mate ,and a couple of lads I still keep in touch with who were at the game say it was by far
the best rendition of our anthem they have ever heard ,and for fans that were at the Celtic game to say that is some plaudit.

I was out of town for several days, and I haven't watched this game. Was it a good game? Or nothing special?
