Gerrad. The Warrior of our time deserved to walk victorious. Set an example for all the lads tonight. (Except Poor ole Johnson). Heroic display which deserved an epic finishing. Really shame for last week.

Fantastic effort but why did BR bring on two subs when we looked like fkg world beaters?

we did seem to lose our grip on midfield a bit with the double substitution.
impressed with assaidi though, if coutinho was going past players like that we`d all be hailing him the next ronaldinho, what the hell has that lad got to do to get a run in the side?

I dont know why he made the substition of Allen for Shelvey as Allen had one of his best games so far.
Downing is cack, end of.
It was a valient effort but we lack a cutting edge without Sturridge. Dare I say Im not too sad at going out as I dont know whether I could bare another 3 or 4 months of these games?

We came so close to going through... really happy with the performance though, reminded me of some classic comebacks in Europe we just lacked that last 1% to edge past.

With Sturridge & Countinho in the team next time round I'm sure we will do better.

I didn't have any problems with the subs that were made.  I did have a bit of a gripe as to when they were made.  Sterling still in his track suit getting instructions from Brendan at the 80 minute mark.  Didn't get in until the 83rd min approx.  "Here we go lad, You've got six minutes.  Go make it happen"

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

If you think that Shelvey's recent performances warranted him coming on at a time when we were looking exceptional then I'm happy to listen to the evidence.

Postby red till i die!! » Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:51 am

almost pulled it off but we gave it a good go.
there was only one team looking like going into the next round and it was us up till the double sub. we were controlling the game and had them on the backfoot so i couldnt understand why he needed to change it. the momentum was with us and we lost that when he took allen and hendo off.
