Id say he probably does care though. He wants to be a successful football manager and I dont see him being offered a top job if he doesn't get Chelsea back on track.
He's gone there to win trophies and be successful, so of course he cares. The nonsense some people are spouting is risible.
Chelsea supporters are by far the worst at spouting nonsense, they're whinging that he's just come in to get a massive pay off which is ridiculous. Benitez craves success and he believes that he can achieve success with Chelsea. However in order for Rafa to bring success, he needs support which he isn't getting, he needs time and patience, which he doesn't have and he needs to players to support him and play for him and the club and they aren't doing this.
He's trapped in a corner and he needs to fight his away out of that corner with the help of his players, but the man is not a miracle worker, despite this team's great attacking talent in Oscar, Mata, Marin (who has barely featured) and Hazard, they are weak defensively. David Luiz is one of the worst CB's in the league, he's god awful. Ashley Cole is past his best and their right back is a young fella who is new to the league and then there is Gary Cahill who isn't exactly the best centre back around, the same applies for Ivanovic who is as gormless and he is clumsy.
Chelsea really need to bring in a strong centre back and a left back and they need someone of Alonso, Pirlo and Schweinsteiger's quality, who can sit behind Mata, Oscar and Hazard and really control the ebb and flow of the game. They don't have this player. Ramires is a decent player, but he's nothing special. They have loaned out Essien and not replaced him. Up front they have Torres, Moses and Sturridge, none of who can really do the job that Drogba did for them. Quite why they let Lukaku go is beyond me, he's looking like a real talent at West Brom and has hinted he wouldn't mind a permanent deal at the Hawthorns.
Chelsea can sack Rafa and bring in Avram Grant, Jose Mourinho, Unai Emery or whoever and they'd still be struggling this season. Abramovich needs to bring in a left back, a centre back, a defensive midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder and they need to bring in a striker who can score goals.
