He won't be fired. He'll be "ceremoniously discharged" once Roman gets his man.
I'm in two minds about this, really. I don't really like it, but it makes sense for Rafa in the short and long term. It'd be interesting to see what he does with a team like that. At the same time, it'll be exciting just to see him back in the PL. I hope he does well there and then resigns. It would be the perfect antidote for RA's sacking of decent managers antics. Oh, and Chelsea supporters are a bunch of classless w@nkers. Always have been, always will be. If anything, Rafa getting abuse off them will only endear him to our club even more. We paraded the man's portrait through the streets when he got appointed. What do they do? Chant abuse and start protests.
Well, tbf to Chelsea fans he did mock them about their plastic flags and passionless support - looking at it from their view do you really expect them to roll out the red carpet for him. Hodgson got s.hit for bemoaning our fans, by our fans, so isn't it reasonable that a manager who once mocked Chelsea fans, not bemoaned them mind but mocked them, be given a hostile reception?
In fact, this whole pantomime stinks. This is what football has become a pantomime. The fact he's taken this job, indicates his principles aren't that in sink with the whole "he gets us" rhetoric - in fact I'd like to hear more of what the goatee devotees have to say about this. I've only read what a great chance he has, and how he can now work with money and a star studied squad etc but what about the emotions re this signing? That's right they've been brushed under the carpet because it's Rafa and nobody (goatee devotees) will want to discuss this facet of the move he's made, hmmmmm.
I mean, RBG saying "hostilities aside," only Rafa could have fans saying things like this when signing for a club like Chelsea.
