We have got middlesborough bit of a tough one think we will need a full strength squad out, I know it doesnt mean much to some people but a trophey at the end of the season is better than none.
Everton have got arsenal :p

No i still rather see young lads and 2nd string squad players given their chance to contiue to prove themselves. It going to be long and tough campaign with league/CL and FA cup and any rest the cadre of team can get the better we are.

Our squad is not strong enough to play the 1st team in the league cup as it is not a priority and is ideal to give the youngsters some experience.

I was surprised Welsh and Partridge weren't in the squad.

Does anyone know if they are injured  ???
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

I drew a home game against Middlesborough in the league cup fourth round in the new CM game (playing as Liverpool of course!) which I won 3-1.  I reckon we'll get a similiar result against them in real life too!  :D  :D  :D

Middlesboro look like they could have a breakthrough season.

They have assembled a squad of some very good players, but perhaps even more importantly are the amount of really good young players coming through. Stuart Downing is absolutely playing out of his skin at the moment.

He scored a brilliant goal against Us.On their day they can beat anyone, can defend well and with Viduka and Jfh they are always a threat. But that lad Downing is on fire as you say. I always feel theres just something needs tweaked in their side.Alittle more hunger and belief and theyd be championship contenders.Be a hard match but I still think Liverpool will edge it.

Middlebrough do have a strong squad but they lack quality in depth, but they didn't take the 3rd round to seriously so maybe they will stick out a mixtue of 1st, 2nd teams and youngsters again.

We should continue with a similar team, Nunez may be available to make his first appaerance and we might be able to make space for Welsh and Partridge.
