In what way was that not a real team last night, was that not more or less the same WBA team which kicked out ***** in the opening match?

I really like the look of all the youngsters, the future is looking very bright but we need one of these young strikers to start shining, I liked the look of young Yessel but it's to early to tell yet.
no i mean stick him in the frirst team with our best players and see if he still looks that good.
Why do you think he wouldn't?
hard to say mate, it was a good team he was in the other night but not the real first team, he stood out more, if you stick him in the first team and he still stands out you know you got something good.

the same we did with gerrard and robbie fowler, its the only real test.

If Assaidi was British, he probably would have cost 25 million. Why did Kenny insisted on mostly Buy British last year? The overpriced flops that he bought cost him his job.

With regards to buying british or other international talent, I agree with Arsene Wenger completely. Only talent should matter and not which passport the player is holding...

With all due respect, players like Charlie Adam, Downing, Henderson and Carroll are just inferior to those we could've gotten with the amount of money we spent if we didn't restrict ourselves to british...

carroll and henderson are good players, it`s just that we massively over paid for them, i guess that is what happens when you ask a baseball stats guru to find a DoF

Looks like this guy could turn out to be a bargain at £2.5million. Since Barnes and McManaman we haven’t had a high quality wide player who can genuinely dribble and not just hit and run and now we Sterling and Assaidi coming through.

What I really liked about him on Wednesday is that most of the time he looked up to see who was in the box and then tried picking them out rather than playing the ball in blind like Downing.

My point was that with that kind of money, we could get far better players. And no, that is what happens when we try to buy british talent... all the main players brought in, Carroll, Adam, Henderson and Downing, for first team and the most expensive, are british. As for Suarez, as far as I know, he was already on our radar since under Rafa. We didn't manage to get him because twit and ***** pulled the plug on spending money and later all the ownership issues.

Yes, about half were foreigners but if you sum up the money we paid for the foreigners and for Adam, Downing, Henderson and Carroll, it was nothing. I was saying it was those overpriced local flops that cost Kenny his job and we are still suffering the multiple effects like limited funds available, no clinical finishers etc.

i dont think it was kenny who negotiated the transfer fee`s, it was the owners man comoli who did that, the first DoF in our 120 year history.

The sooner he replaces Downing on a permanent basis the better.
