it said everything when martin jol put 2 defenders on carroll after 10 minutes because hangeland (who is a big fella himself) couldnt handle him on his own.
even west hams second goal, it was noticable that fulhams best header of the ball hangeland was nowhere near the corner because he was marking andy carroll at the far post, just his presence rattles defenders.
he should have been awarded a pen too.
when allardyce gets a chance to work on a few things on the training ground (like a few of his old bolton set piece moves) they will be a handful for anyone with andy in that type of form. allardyce must be buzzing, even at 23 andy carroll is like kevin davies on steroids.

I normally use the words tremendous performance about a striker when he scores goals but then that's just me !!!!!!!! Aguero's last minute goal of the season to clinch the title under maximum pressure now that was tremendous.  Yeah Carroll did alright but tremendous is stretching it to the fkg limits.

I have to agree, I think 'tremendous' is a bit OTT. He will fit in at WH, suits big Sam's hoofing game

before yesterday west ham looked toothless up top and allardyce himself said that before carroll signed he was in panic mode, now with carroll leading the line they have someone who will trouble any defence in the league.
he didnt score but he was the focal point of their attack, their attack revolved around him, and nolan said that carroll has given everyone in the dressing room belief that they can get after sides no matter who they are playing against.
kevin keegan (different style obviously) was similar for us, he wasnt a prolific goalscorer (his best return was 15 in a season) but he made things happen and our attack revolved around him.
for 1 man to go to a newly promoted team and give them a cutting edge is just as impressive to me as a top striker scoring goals in a side that has spent more money than any other team in the history of the game.

Rogers said he may recall Andy. Get him back and get rat boy in. Then we have some options.

If there is the option to get Andy back in the loan agreement, it's a no brainer.Should have done it at 11:01pm Friday night.

Funny as hell if it happens.  Imagine all the West Ham shirts with Carroll on the back that have been sold  :wwww

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

There is a clause that allows us to bring him back in Jan. But I think a move for rat boy is more likely as Jan is a long way off.

Too bad Sam Allardyce is not our manager then...

We appreciate the fact that Sam Allardyce was looking for a striker which suits his philosophy of football, which is direct long ball football, and yet we can't seem to accept the fact that our very own manager is trying to find a striker which suits his philosophy?

On another note... we reportedly received 2 million for Caroll and with the 4 million from Adam, we still couldn't pull off the Dempsey deal?  :no

i think a better analogy would be if allardyce had aguero in his team would he sell him and bring in a big man? you know full well he wouldnt.
he`d probably bring in a big man but he wouldnt sell aguero, he`d try to make it work.
just like when he had jay jay okotcha, okotcha (at his best) was very skillfull and an individualist, he wasnt a team player or the type of grafter that you`d usually expect to see in an allardyce team but allardyce could see he had talent and shuffled his plans to integrate him into the side.
it`s not just allardyce, 99% of managers work with what they have got, they dont just stick dogmatically to a plan.
when wenger took over arsenal i`m sure his vision of the game revolved around beckenbauer-esque centre halves bringing the ball out of defence, not cloggers like adams and bould who were the backbone of george grahams hit and hope side, but wenger saw for all their limited ability on the ball they were a well drilled unit and very good at keeping the ball out of the net so he intigrated them into his plans.
to be fair to rodgers when he first arrived he said he was going to adjust his plans to suit the players at the club but something changed, the way all of comoli`s / kennys / whoevers signings are being shown the door (including hendo) it makes you wonder if there isnt an agenda at the club.
tony barrett says in a piece today that the owners and rodgers had a difference of opinion over what should of happened on transfer deadline day and the owners over ruled him, it begs the question who is really calling the shots?

Injured and out for 6 weeks ...

An average player from a top half team could go to a newly promoted team and make them instantly better. It's not really that hard. And the reverse is true for us - a good player in an average team can find it very difficult to perform under pressure and raise his game. (we have a recent history of accruing such players on our roster)

A bit pointless to judge his worth in a top team based on him making a difference at west ham. We made that mistake once already...

Very disappointed at those gloating at Carroll's injury. He's still a LFC player after all. If Rodgers had not left Carroll sitting on his hole on the bench he might be a bit fitter. Instead he has a hamstring injury.
Bad show folks...

Watch us get screwed over by Fat Sam at the end of the season. He's Fergie's tea time bum chum after all.

Andy Carroll is far from the Sergio Aguero of target men... If he was Kenny would have played him more often...

Hopefully the loan deal is more watertight than Aqilani's.
