Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

We finished the transfer window with both Skrtel and Agger still in the side (yes, I know we need to sign Agger up to a new contract), I didn't expect that to happen.

Suarez hasn't said anything racist, used his hands to block a goal, or bitten anybody (that we know of) and as of now hasn't gotten any bans yet.

We haven't beaten anybody so badly they we were branded disrespectful.

The Red Sox just lost 3 of their best players in Beckett, Crawford, and Gonzalez (Enrique will be disappointed in that because Enrique and all his baseball knowledge branded him the best baseball player in the world when they met) but we've managed to hold on to ours.

We did knock some wages off the bill.

We got rid of Charlie f*cking Adam.

If Hearts were a premier league club, we would have 4 points against them.

We have two Turkish players at the club, and we're becoming more diverse.

At least now when we don't get the results we want against better clubs, we won't be as let down.

I don't have any erectile disfunction problems yet... So that's good.

I believe Rodgers will stick to the task in hand rather than revert to type ,and eventually this team will be a cohesive unit capable of drawing superlatives
from the fans and the fucking media . I also believe that with the introduction of the ridiculously skilful Assaidi and the possible integration of Yesil
and to a lesser extent Suso we will resemble a much more potent football team, and we will win a lot more than we lose .

Let them mock us now ,but Rodgers will have the last laugh .... Is that positive enough ?

Well, we still play in Red. That's positive.

I think people here there and everywhere are over-reacting because of the nature of knee-jerkism, after such a terrible performance. And as I said before which certainly didn't help, the very poor, s.*i*e support from the terraces, I couldn't believe it and I don't believe in any of this s.hit that the fans had the right to feel aggrieved by the lack of incoming activity on the last day of the window; certainly not on the terraces. They should be supporting, singing and shouting their players on and the performance from the crowd mimicked the team's performance, a side that looked as though it had the weight of the world on it's shoulders, feeling sorry for themselves.

I think it should be crunch time for Gerrard, either Rodgers plays him as part of a forward 3 (though I don't know how he will go tracking back), or start doing an AVB (at Chelsea) and use Gerrard from the bench a little more. He doesn't have the legs anymore to play week in week out in a 3 man midfield. But in saying that I could imagine the disharmony this would cause within the camp re player power and all that old bollox. I think Gerrard should be tried on the right of a 3 man forward initially to see if we can get more out of our tired captain from there, not sure how this would go.

I trust Rodgers, the players let him down, this is going to take a lot of time and hard decisions need to be made, I reckon before it  bares fruit. I can't believe some of the s.hit I've read - as soon as we've had a blip the finger pointing starts in sensationalist fashion. Get a fu.cking grip.

Gerrard has played his best football for us on the right and i'd agree with moving him over.  Whenever Suarez could finish them is another matter, mind.

It's a long road and Rodgers has barely started, yet the same old faces are already preparing their YANKS OUT banners...both the owners and the manager need time to gel and it'll come in time.  But today's support was poor (i was there) and you could have heard a pin drop for most of the match.

Positives

Despite disappointing results in what we already knew would be tough openingfixture list with a new manager and football philosphy. We have shown a style of play of when( and not if ) it clicks into shape will reap the rewards with exciting brand of football.
BR is not perfect and he  man enough to admit it, which I find extremely refreshing in this day and age
A pile of youngsters who really look to be real deal

And it's only game of 3 of a very long league season

It is a sad truth that society, as a whole, (and fans as a specific group) lacks patience. BR has an immense task ahead of him, but I believe him to be the right man for the job. The road to putting LFC back on the map of consistent contenders is a long and arduous one and BR will hang in until the task is completed. Some positives are that: BR is implementing a positive system and style of play, FSG is correcting a club history of spending beyond it's means, and academy players  and youth are being injected into our team; all of which will reap benefits in the long run (both footy wise and financially). The short run may be wrought with disappointment (today's result being an example), as BR has honestly pointed out,  but as a fan, toughing out the rough runs makes the success and stability of the long run that much more worthwhile.  We, as fans, are allowed our moaning during bad spells, but we must, as true fans, continue to support our team regardless. Grab a pint and toast a positive future for the Reds.

OK how about this.

3 Games in we have 1 point after playing WBA Man city and Arsenal with a -5 goal difference

Last year 3 games in Arsenal had 1 point after playing Newcastle Liverpool Man UTD with a -8 goal difference.

Arsenal finished 3rd

Rodgers is trying to intoduce a new playing style. We should have beaten city on another day we would have gotten the 3 points.

We need to keep the faith in Rodgers. We play Man UTD in 2 games time. A win their ignoring the result of the week before would put us on 4 points UTD on 6

We would have played WBA City Arsenal United
UTD would have played Everton Fulham Southampton and Liverpool

I know what position id rather be in
