Andy Carroll signs for West Ham

The Premiership - General Discussion

We made a bad move IMO. We're already short on strikers anyway and they don't even look like they're going to be scoring a lot of goals. Could have definitely used him as a plan B in games that we'll be unable to score. Wonder what Brendan's plan B will be now.

Every single cross that came into that box was begging for Carrolls head.
We will have to stop crossing the ball because its a waste of fookin time

i`m surprised he`s gone there, if his plan is to score a few goals and impress people then i think he`s going to get his eye wiped, west ham are absolutely toothless, they are awful going forward.

id say nolan had a big influence in him going there.its a good move for him as he'l be top dog, whereas with newcastle he faces tough competition for a starting slot.he'l get all the playing time he wants off fat sam.
they might not be the best going forward but he will get more than enough service per game to at least get on the scoresheet and well into double figures for the season.
the lad has fire in him and he will bust a gut to prove a point to rodgers.
i hope he has a good season and wish him all the best.

I do feel sorry for Andy. But I'm not going to let sentiment get in the way of things and bemoan Rodgers because of it. I think Rodgers will have other "plans" in mind for our strike force.

Good luck Andy.

Berbatov was 27 when he joined United having already proved his goalscoring capabilities in Germany and then at Spurs for two seasons in the premiership. Carroll was 22 when he joined Liverpool having only had one full season in the championship in his career and half a season as a regular starter in the premiership.

Thommos Perm was right to draw attention to the loss of value in Berbatov since 2008 given his supposed quality and reputation when he joined United. Carroll is only going to improve as he gets older and even if he doesn't move on for the price that Liverpool paid it is unlikely that he will be sold at the loss that Berbatov is going to be.

Who knows....maybe the year will be exactly what he needs and he'll come back a better player. It's a loan, just like Sahin, not a done deal.

I honestly wish him all the best.  I feel really sorry for him after what he's had to go thru these last couple years, and I really hope he does well at West Ham, except when he plays us obviously.
