Liverpool Football Club - Games

Great half!

Would love to see Borini playing in the centre a bit more, he isn't a winger, but seems to drift into the right positions in the box.

Watching LFC play today made me really smile after a really long while. Hope we continue strongly in the second half. Let's be cautious.

while i'm a big fan of lucas, and delighted to see him back in the squad... i think the extra dynamism of shelvey, playing at a higher tempo and further forward, has been key to us beginning to control this game.

We keep this up, we're good.

Anyway, I am really impressed of how Sterling manages in this game. He's just a boy in a men's game but he's still doing very good.
Also, Borini shouldn't be playing on the sides. He and Suarez should switch places. And speaking of Suarez, that guy really needs to pass more often. It's getting a bit frustrating watching him being so selfish.

Great to come out of the half with a lead.  I'd like to see Carroll brought on for Borini at some point around the hour mark.  He can offer some hold up play to get us out from under it (which we are likely to be).  He can also help defending the set pieces we are likely to have to defend.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Decent half all round there. Not the easiest way to start a big game when losing your main midfield anchor man but we have adjusted well and Allen has filled the hole well and the passing has improved a hell of a lot over the 45 and was crisp and precise toward HT.

Skrtel's goal was an outstanding header and very reminiscent of the way big Sami used to ghost in and bullet the ball in to the net.

The big revelation has to Sterling, he's been fantastic and has really caused the Man City defence trouble, Toure just doesn't know what to do with him and looks Sh*t scared of his pace, he looks to be a good outlet that we should use as often as possible in the second half.

That really was a decent half of football.  City clearly outplayed us in the first part, but I never felt we were really threatened by them.  Once we started taking control city just couldn't recover and we played really well.

Stevie's having a much better game, and so is Borini I feel.  Suarez is causing all sorts of trouble again without wasting any clear-cut chances.  Kelly and Johnson are doing well getting up, and Coates and Skrtel are playing well together.  Allen is taking control again and playing really well, and Shelvey has come on and played quite well in Lucas' place.  Sterling has been really good on the side as well.  Watching him play like that gets me really excited for what he could turn into, because he's having no problems keeping up with these guys.

Honestly, there's no complaints when you play the defending champions and do this well.

He's played in 3 games for us and I believe he has only misplaced 1 pass.  And personally I missed it, so he's looking pretty damn good to me.  Not to mention his anticipation is as good as anybody, and he defends really well.

Really, really impressed with Allen.  I think he's going to prove a snip at 15 million. :nod

The lads are playing very, very well.  Everyone's pressing, the movement's been excellent and the passing has been really good.  Sterling has been excellent down the left and Shelvey's doing very well pushing up in the centre of the park.  Oh, and Gerrard looks more like his commanding self today.  More of this in the 2nd half please lads.

he looks to be the most complete (box to box) player in the squad.

ya, he played little like fargagas, like to move the ball forward. 2nd half reckons.
