Fantastic Olympics.... spectacular organisation, superb performances by athletes from all nations and an atmosphere second to none.

Well done the whole of GB, not just the team.

I went to both the Sydney games and Athens games and London beats them both in my personal experience.

In know the feeling St. Mick, usually the week before the new season starts I'm full of excitement that the new season is upon us, but this morning it just feels a bit meh.

The excitement and pure joy of the past two weeks seeing athletes like Mo Farah, Jess Ennis and Usain Bolt (to name just three) and their dedication and no nonsense approach to their sport really does put the ego's and aggro of modern football to shame.

i'm sure it'll change come the weekend. i'll probably start getting the buzz around friday.

it's funny though. was watching the athletics yesterday as i had no interest in the community shield whatsoever. flicked over to see the score and the first thing i heard was a load of chelsea fans singing "w@nker w@nker" at the referee. one of my main blots at the olympics was the gobsh#te fans booing suarez. yes my friends. football is back.

I miss the Olympics already. I was waking up in the night and switching on my blackberry to get the latest results. Now I lie there staring at Mrs Reg.
