"Lucas almost looked embarrassed by the praise that came his way and admitted that as well as working to repair himself physically following the injury, he was also attempting to regain his mental strength."

That was a good read. Can't wait to see him get back to full fitness.

it was good to see him throwing his weight around a bit against roma, he wouldnt be crashing into tackles if he wasnt confident that his injury had completely healed.
he just needs minutes on the pitch now so he can get some mileage into his legs and regain his sharpness.

Unless another DM is signed, getting Lucus fit is one of the most important jobs over the summer. I wonder how we would have got on last season if he hadnt of been so badly hurt.

Anyone knows if he was taken off as a precaution or was he injured?

Liverpool's hopes of gaining three points were dented in the first five minutes when Lucas Leiva left the field with a thigh injury.  :(

The match commentator got word that he actually hurt himself during the warm up and the decision was made to see if he could work through it on the pitch.  Obviously, that didn't work out and let's hope it didn't cause a bigger problem.  We have, I think, enough central midfield quality to cope without him but I'll be gutted for the lad if he faces another spell on the sidelines after such a long time away.

Because of the long lay-off Lucas has had, and the fact (to me anyway) he seems a slow starter in getting going I wouldn't give him an automatic starting place as soon as he has come back from injury. I think the lad needs to be edged back in from the subs bench for a handful of games at least - he isn't the type of player (ala Allen here & now) who'll hit the ground running, so to speak.

I read on football fantasy.com that he may be out for up to 2 months. I've no idea if it is a trustworthy site. He doesn't deserve that if true. Gutted for him.

i've also seen that its predicted to be between 6 and 8 weeks on other sites too. gutted for lucas after such a long time out as well, and also disappointed that rodgers will have to wait even longer to work with his preferred midfield. the upside is that we are better covered with quality options than we have been for a long time.

if he is out for 2 months then that is a blow, the one crumb of comfort for the club is that in allen we have a ready made replacement who can step up to the plate unlike last season where lucas`s absence left a gaping chasm in our midfield.
up to this point in his career lucas had hardly had an injury of note but now he`s had 2 practically back to back which is going to add up to a calender year out of the game. at least this new injury has got nothing to do with his cruiciate knee injury, at least thats some good news.

Richard Buxton on twitter:

Brendan Rodgers says #LFC will be without Lucas Leiva for "two or three" months.
