I must say I find the Brendan Rodgers era so far a most unappealing one.
As opposed to the Kenny era that put us in this mess?
In terms of damage, Kenny's era did more more than any other in my 20 years supporting the club (on the field... 110 million spent and made the team worse, lowest PL finish ever, 80 million spent on players we are looking to offload... off the field... terrible at dealing with the media, gave a curmudgeonly/miserable image of the club.
Such was the waste the new owners have reigned in the spending. Rodgers is having to look at cheaper options thanks to Kenny's splurge on pap.
Kenny failed. Rodgers is having to undo the damage he has been left with. He will need time before any judgement can be made.
Sigh....another "Liverpool spent £110m" comment.
I am not defending Kenny's signings at all, as the league table does not lie, but really, let's once and for all get rid of this Sky headline grabbing nonsense that Kenny spent £110m.
He sold Torres £50m, Babel £9m, Mereiles £10m, plus a few other odds and sods. He also reduced the wage bill by about £30m a year. This does not make his signings any better, but let's get the maths right.

In most fans best XI next season... none of Carroll (35m), Downing (20m) or Henderson (17m) feature in it.
'I look at the young kid Jordan Henderson who got a wee bit of stick last year but do you know what, this is a boy who was 21 years of age,' Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo.
'I thought when I first saw him at Sunderland that this kid is going to be a really good player. He's coming to a massive club and massive expectation.
'He moves away from home, he is on his own and he has to be a world beater straight away. It was never going to happen.'
Rodgers reckons he can help Henderson improve when he puts his stamp on the Reds.
He added: 'This kid can play football. If he is in a certain system - in an environment which is going to help him and educate him in the game - you will see that.
'The biggest thing for me that I've heard about Jordan is his attitude. He has got an incredible attitude.
'If you have got a player like that who has got the ability and the thirst to learn - he can run all day, he is physically good, he is strong, he is quick - and you can remodel him.'

I mean, all players deserve the chance to show what they can do, and be assessed as to how well they can adapt to a new style of playing. IMO, I think Carroll could adapt successfully into a player that Rodgers would like. Carroll does have a good touch, and was just beginning to show confidence toward the end of last season and during the Euro's.
I hope he stays, let' see what happens.

I wouldn't have said anything against Kenny, and i have largely refrained from doing so thus far. But when you have people hammering Rodgers before he has even started (when he is faced with a daunting task of having to clean up the mess left by Kenny as well as Hodgson/Rafas last 2 yrs), some perspective is needed.
Due to mismanagement and awful decisions we have been a sinking ship for 3 years. Rodgers needs both time and support.
