It is nice of us to strengthen our direct competition though

Let's not jump to conclusions.

We haven't accepted Newcastle's offer. And I'm dead cert we won't be accepting their offer anytime soon.

What's true is that we're definitely looking to sell the lad.

I can understand it if we get a bid that is too good to refuse.
However, a loan deal to a team who finished above us last season , I just don't see any sense at all in it.

Loan deal makes no sense. Either buy him now or fk off. If we were overloaded with strikers then maybe it would make sense.

If we just sell him now then we don't get much.  If we loan him off to a club and he does well, his value goes up.  His value really can only go up, and he's been playing much better lately, so I believe his value will go up next season.  I'll be ***** if he is sold this summer, because it won't be for much more than £10 million, and I know he's worth way more than that.

I hope he's given a proper chance to prove himself tho, and that he can stick around.

clubs will just string us along like they did with aquilani, especially now, knowing rodgers doesnt want him, they will do the same next summer (i.e just say to us `we`ll take him on loan and pay his wages or you can pay him £80,000 a week to sit on your bench`)
whats more carroll doesnt want to leave, he actually wants a loan deal and not a sale, he wants to prove to liverpool that he can do a job for us.
sources close to carroll reckon he`s seen his @rse with rodgers for trying to sell him without giving him a chance to prove himself.

hmm...while i care little if Carroll stay or goes, i fail to see how a loan will help.

Then there's the issue of the lad's life style in Newcastle...back then he was out on the p!ss every week and i'd be fearful that he would simply slip into his bad old habbits again.  Thanks, but no thanks.  Either buy him or f**k off.

He might not even get a game with the two up front Newcastle already have anyway.....strange choice for the Toon army, and Carroll if he's up for that.

we wont loan him to newcastle, that just wont happen.
we might sell him to newcastle but we wont loan him, that would be just like giving a £35m striker to one of our top four rivals.
if we loan him out it will be to clubs lower down the league like west ham and villa who have both thrown their hats into the ring for him today.
we just want to sell him but carroll is not prepared to be sold, he wants to prove to rodgers that he can do a job here so carroll is willing to go on loan for a year i suppose hoping that our strikers dont do the business next season and he has a stormer at villa or west ham.
he doesnt want to go.

If we loan him back to Newcastle, the side who's former MD is on record claiming to having extorted £35m out of us over his transfer then we will deservedly be the biggest laughing stock in world football.

There is no way this is gonna happen.
