Was lucky enough to spend last 5 days at Melwood working with @FoxSoccer on their six-part @LFC series. Here's 5 things I learnt this week..

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
1. Lucas so happy to be back in full training, he's like a kid at Xmas. On exercise bike with Carra, Carra said he's 1 of our best players

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
2. Joe Coles is one of the most popular players amongst staff at Melwood - particularly canteen ladies. Always says hello to everyone.

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
3. New training regime is very different to recent years. All about very quick passing on mini-pitches with goalkeepers fully involved

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
4. The last man at Melwood on Friday @ 7.15pm when I left was the boss. He was first in @7.30am. His Fox interview was like hearing Shankly

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
5. Having been present for every minute of the @foxsoccer filming of the series so far, it's going to be absolutely amazing viewing.

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
With regards Brendan Rodgers, I can't say enough good things about what I've seen and heard from him - as boss & person - on and off

I wonder what we’ve been doing in previous years.

certainly not shooting practice under kenny.  :p

I hope the 'exciting signing' Rodgers has mentioned will be Jovetic.

Haven't watched much of him recently but I remember him tearing us apart a few years ago in the CL when he was a teenager.  Still only 22 and I notice some tabloids linking us again for 16-17 mil.  Benitez tried to get him a few years back too, but allegedly he's one of the players H&G wouldn't give him funds for.  Young, exciting attacker to give us some cutting edge in final third... I'm hoping it's him.

As for the comments about Carroll, he was pretty non-commital and I wouldn't read too much into it.  He was non-commital about most things - including the Cole/Aquilani situations and transfer targets, he'd be a great politician would Brendan!

I'll say one thing though, f**k dealing with those scum bags in Milan over Carroll.  After the sneaky way they've manipulated the Aquilani situation (stopped playing him before his appearance clause (of 20 games) kicked in where they'd have to pay 6 mil, then trying to bid less for him) there is no way I'd ever loan them a player again.

I think his comment after the questions about Aquilani about players having to have 'mental steel' could be telling - maybe he was giving something away about offloading Aquilani....

Boroni I bet. BBC have just picked up on it. however don't be shocked if it's someone even more high profile. Brendan and the owners need to make the first signing of the 'new' liverpool a statement of intent. I'm not saying it's feking Messi or owt but don't rule out A.Johnson.  especially now Mancini has signed up to 5 more years at city. Johnson and Mancini do not get along at all. this could be a chance!
