by this stage roy hodgson had already insulted our fans, fell out with the danish press and insulted the nation of norway or someone
:D

That came some time later actually. Around about this time a lot of people were saying similar sorts of things about his temperament and what not. Lots of managers who talk a good game don't deliver.

Andy's right. Bring back Roy.

It was longer than Rodgers.

my point is that hodgson had won the swedish champion ship 5 times, the danish championship and the danish supercup. he has managed to get to the uefa cup final (though losing both times) with both inter and fulham. its not exactly spectacular by our standards but its a bit churlish to say he has not seen success.

rodgers has won a championship play-off by comparison. i hope and expect his list of honours will surpass hodgon's in due time though.

He seems like the new Shankly.
Lets hope the supporters get behind him and give him time

to be fair, hodgson had had a far more successful career when he came to us than rodgers has so far. hopefully rodgers will be putting that right as soon as possible.

I agree Andy ,I was just pointing out how Hodgson often referred to his successful time in Sweden ,as a reason why Reds fans should excuse his stubbornness
in changing his tired and out dated tactics .

I watched the short clip on Rogers training the boys for the first time.  It basically just showed them slowly jogging or dribbling around, and him just clapping the whole time.

Love watching interviews with this guy. Seems so calm and collected but has an air of authority at the same time. Genuinely think the players are gonna love playing for him and hopefully he can gel the lads together really well
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
Was lucky enough to spend last 5 days at Melwood working with @FoxSoccer on their six-part @LFC series. Here's 5 things I learnt this week..

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
1. Lucas so happy to be back in full training, he's like a kid at Xmas. On exercise bike with Carra, Carra said he's 1 of our best players

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
2. Joe Coles is one of the most popular players amongst staff at Melwood - particularly canteen ladies. Always says hello to everyone.

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
3. New training regime is very different to recent years. All about very quick passing on mini-pitches with goalkeepers fully involved

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
4. The last man at Melwood on Friday @ 7.15pm when I left was the boss. He was first in @7.30am. His Fox interview was like hearing Shankly

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
5. Having been present for every minute of the @foxsoccer filming of the series so far, it's going to be absolutely amazing viewing.

Paul Rogers ‏@PaulRogersLFC
With regards Brendan Rodgers, I can't say enough good things about what I've seen and heard from him - as boss & person - on and off

I wonder what we’ve been doing in previous years.

the first few weeks of pre season is notoriously the worst time of the year if you are a pro footballer (or even an amateur), usually it`s all about getting fit and getting miles into your legs. when it showed them slowly jogging it was probably the warm down after running a half marathon or something.
after the first few weeks there is more work done with the ball etc so it gets a bit more interesting then, but the first couple of weeks are a ****.

Yea I think I've seen some of the players talking about being glad to be back but not looking forward to next week because it's hell week.  Wouldn't expect a video of any secret training tips anyway.
