FSG also saved our club from going the same way Leeds and Nottingham Forrest went. Supporters might be upset and frustrated with Kenny Dalglish's dismissal but they shouldn't be turning on our owners. They're just doing their best for our club, they may get things wrong, but they ended Boston Red Sox's 80+ year wait for a title and there is absolutely no reason why they can't end our long wait for a league title.

Here you go with the cheerleading again...
:glare:

So you have supreme loyalty to the manager, irrespective of how ***** he was, but none to the owners who saved our club from administration, you have a very selective kind of loyalty mate.

Got to say Heimdall in the main I think you talk a lot of depressing sh.ite but for once we seem to be on the same page. Why the fk are so many people turning on the owners? I would have been really pi.ssed if they had sat around and done nothing. Somebody said that our owners are worth billions. Individually that may be the case with some of FSG's directors but it is not necessarily representative of just how much money FSG have available to invest in LFC. I'm beginning to find some of the comments naive and childish in the extreme.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years
are in brackets)
LFC £300m (£420m)
Everton +£33m (£211m)
Arsenal £557m (£853m)
Spurs £545m (£657m)
Chelsea £966m (£1072m)
Man City £165m (£833m)
Man United £650m (£1204m)

It's far far too early to comment on FSG's commitment to LFC. For the most part, they have provided adequate funding and let Kenny get on with his job. In their view, and they are entitled to it, Kenny wasn't making the sort of progress they expected. Hell, I don't even know if Kenny had a 5 year plan given that he was hired to fill the gap and bring stability to the club.

The choice of manager and the level of funding they provide this summer, will go a long way towards truely understanding their level of commitment and the rate at which they expect our club to progress.

One thing for sure, they're not going to buy success like Chelsea and Man C. The sooner we get used to the fact that it will be a long, hard road back up the mountain, the better off we'll be with regards to our own expectations of the owners, the team and the manager.

I don't think it is a sweeping statement. I think it is downright idiotic but then what do I know I'm just one of the one percent.

Kenny will always be a LFC legend and will always be loved and cherished by Kopites all round the world. In his 2nd spell, the 2nd half season that he took over from Roy he did a fantastic job and if he could just improve from there in the last concluded season we would probably have qualified for CL and most definitely kept his job. But last summer shi.t  signings have let him down and cost him his job. Plus he just wasn't the manager he was in his first spell. His team selections and tactics were bizarre and got me scratching my head all the time. The Liverpool side last season just couldn't kill off opponents when we were in the lead esp. at home games and opponents usually clawed back and equalised, hard to put the ball into the net, no hunger to win like manure. So I think his dismissal after a dismal league campaign was fair. We must go forward and not look to past heroes to revive the club. Let past heroes be continued to be cherished in our memories.

Let us all get behind Buck Rodgers and if he messes up the club, then I would want him to receive the same treatment next summer.

He probably means

Adam
Henderson
Downing had poor seasons mate

The only players that come in that didnt imo were Bellamy and Enrique - although the last third of the season he struggled as well.

I think they would have had a huge bearing on it personally.

It was a lot of money spent

There were plenty of factors, the main one being that the owners didnt want KK in the first place and used any excuse to get rid of him

:D

As funny as that statement is... a lot of the people that wanted Rafa/kenny sacked have that same way of thinking

They do indeed and I fully expect the same people who were calling for Kenny to go to be the first to be calling for Rodgers head if things don't go well at first

Anyone who calls for B- Rods head needs to seriously fu'ck off and support someone else. No matter what happens he is our manager for the next 2 seasons at least and must be given a chance.
