Player options in summer....who!??

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I always liked Baros and we let him go too easy.

Comps like the Euros can mislead, we need lads that can do it
every week and not just sparkle on the big occasion.

Easy to be tempted but the smart ones dont bite on first impressions.

Yes let's buy young players who will become worldbeaters then sell them on. So all FSG want is a profit from there investment while the club goes backwards yet again. What a load of BS we are being fed how can we compete on that basis?? It makes us a feeder club

I would try to get Dzagoev if I was Brenden Rodgers, only 21 years of age and has a lot of potential

Instead of a blanket neggo post like this, why not suggest players you would like to see us sign?  Keep in mind though that we are entering our third consecutive season out of the Champions League and as nearer to mid table as we are to the top four (which as we have witnessed may not be enough to get into the Champions League).

The market for established world class players is simply beyond us right now.  Our owners are not paupers by any means, but they will not simply throw silly money at players of whom they will have to massively overpay to join a non Champions League club.

So what then is the alternative in moving the club forward?  Well one would be buying established premier league players and integrating them into the team and hoping they, with their experience, can elevate their games and that of those around them.  As we have seen with Downing and Adam, this doesn't always work.  We have seen a bit of the other end of the spectrum there with Enrique.

We have also in recent years bought a few players that had success in other leagues.  Aquilani, Miereles, Suarez, Poulsen, Maxi, Again, hit and miss.

The bottom line is that there is nothing wrong with a philosophy of buying young emerging players and hoping they realize their potential.  You just have to find the right ones.  It's going to be hit and miss, as is all areas aspects of the transfer market.  I happen to think that it is the best philosophy to have for a club of our position

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Any eye catchers from the Euros?
Chelsea have got Hazard, + talk of Portos Hulk.
Utd according to papers have got luca Modric in their back pocket.
I hope our new manager has some major contacts in the transfer market.

I wanna see Two big names at least.

Wind your neck in mate. Just because you have your knickers in a twist over Kenny doesn't mean you need to spout this stuff in every thread. Is the transfer window over? No Has next season even started yet? No Have you even given the new manager a chance? No. I didn't see you moaning with the same owners when they gave Kenny 100mil+ to spend but all of a sudden they are crooks?

Give it a rest DD, or at least stay off here when you have been on the drink mate.

Yay!!! Name calling in the middle of a debate.  Instead of resorting to posts that aren't worth clicking on, how about answering the questions I asked?
