i take it by thr owners, he said he was "in the loop"?

I hope Gerrard had nothing to do with it - he is a player nothing more .The last time he was asked for an opinion we got Hodgson.

I'm going to suggest its bol.locks

well we know its not total balls as he said stuff during his england interview about being in the loop and a part of the process.

'I can go on record and guarantee he was first choice,' said Gerrard.
'I've been kept in the loop all along by the board and the owners... so take no notice of Dave Whelan.

He has been told what is happening just like the other players have been told. That is all.

It's about time Gerrard just concentrated on playing football - his last two seasons have been poor and way below his standards.

It's time for a bit of calm and the reaction is going a little overboard now all over twitter and forums etc and already getting worried about too high expectations being placed on him early

Cole went on loan to Lille and Aquilani went in loan to AC Milan.

Did you need anymore proof than that

Hmmmm
Have you got news headlines saying "Aquilani has gone on loan to AC Milan" and "Cole has gone on loan to Lille"?

Almost everyone have been saying positive things about B.R. like keeping ball possession, pass and move, attacking football, young manager, a breadth of fresh air, did a great job at Swansea, Swansea only side given standing ovation from the kop at anfield etc etc. At first I was taken in by all these positives until I looked at all of Swansea PL results last season and they all point to a mid table manager getting Swansea finishing mid table. 2 years ago we appointed Hodgson, another mid table manager and looked where we ended?

I believe we'll continue with mid table finish again for at least another 2 seasons before we have any hope of seeing light at end of the tunnel. Why?

1. Without CL football thus hard to attract star names and with limited funds from FSG because Kenny wasted 120 million on circus clowns last summer and one tall expensive clown last January. Thus leaving Rodgers with little money to sign players that he would have wanted. Thanks to Kenny's transfer blunders. And FSG is no where near City, Chelsea, Arsenal in terms of providing funds.

2. Swansea league results were average(check it out at soccernet.com ), so we're appointing an average side manager hoping he can get us to become title contenders. This is a big risk for a big club like Liverpool IMO. We almost appointed a relegation battling manager which I thought FSG was playing a cruel joke.

Now Rodgers may come out good one day, but not this next season and the next next season due to above reasons.  But being a die hard fan, I'll still get behind Rodgers and will be more than happy for him to prove me wrong.

i think we have a very good team, the likes of barcelona and man city are sniffing around our centre halves and when suarez decides to move on the list of clubs interested in signing him will be a who`s who of world football. lucas is the best defensive midfielder in the country and gerrard is still a very good player and the captain of england. henderson and carroll are young players getting better every week and carroll showed twice in the space of 3 days how much potential there is there when he ruined the european champions defence in a way the likes of mario gomez and even messi struggled to do.
this squad has massively under performed over the last 3 years and any manager who can instill belief in this group of players could really do some damage in the league, if anyone can get the likes of suarez, carroll and gerrard etc playing to the best of their abilities then this side can achieve anything, and i mean anything.
listening to how inspirational rodgers was in his press conference he could be the man.

Totally agree with ycsatbjywtbiastkamb!
Man City,Chelsea etc may sign Hazard and other top names but they can onlt play 11 players at any 1 time.
If BR can motivate and inspire our current players to perform near the top of their ability we are a match for anyone.
The Chelsea games last season prove this and also the performance again Man CIty at Anfield was excellent when we outplayed them.
For me the current squad does not need major surgery.
The only changes i can see is Brendan bringing in players that play with the same ethos as he hopes to instill into the club.
So player for player on paper any signings Brendan makes may not look like an improvement but they will be better players to fit with his style and formation.

I for one was hugely impressed by his press conference and felt a huge sense of pride and relief that he is our new manager.
