Hes obviously a good player, but hes not a game changer.

In terms of outfield, we have two world class players in Gerrard and Suarez.

there is no one better than him playing in this country at what he does.
that`ll do for me.

I think it's a vehement hypothesis.

2 stats i have heard and read during the last couple of days

1. Despite Lucas being out for 4 months he is still our top tackler with 68 successfull tackles ?! As well as the most successful pass completions

2. Since Lucas was injured we have only got 16 points out of 42 available ( another source says its 19 )

Has he been missed - yes massively. He was a vital cog in the team that had their best ever start to a prem campaign.

both true and shows how much we've missed him. i still can't believe we didn't go out and but a defensive midfielder in january to replace him.

we've won 46% of our games when he's played and 29% when he hasn't. that's a massive difference.

In fact it is 19 points from a possible 51 as the other stat was before the Derby

Our main problem has been scoring goals, its only over the past 4 or 5 game we have been leaking goals due to the absence of Agger. Lucas adds nothing either in creating or scoring. We drew 4 of our first 6 home games when he played.

As regards passing... 2 yard side pass merchant David Batty had the highest pass completion for two seasons in the mid 1990s. If you dont pass the ball more than 2 yards the risk of being intercepted dwindles..its nigh on impossible to misplace a pass. Passing is a weakness of Lucas' game as he never goes for a telling pass and routinely hands the responsibility onto others to do so (to be fair thats often the job of a defensive mid). When they played together him and Mascherano was the least creative midfield we have ever had...both could pass 2 yards all day long but neither could make a telling pass. That 2009/10 season was shocking.

Lucas is a good player who has improved immeasureably, and while hes been a loss, he is not a difference maker.

The lads improved but its a measure of how shyte we have become that we are harking on about his injury.

Its no good looking for excuses when 1 player goes out as that is absolutely nothing and top clubs cover several
injuries to good players and still win games and get the job done week in week out.

Him not being there is not the probelm, the problem is we have a very ordinary squad of players who cant cut
the mustard or keep pace with the big boys on a consistent basis.

If Lucas is now the be all and end all for Liverpool then we really are in trouble.

Lucas eyes pre-season return
Brazilian closing on comeback from knee surgery
By Paulo Freitas.   Last Updated: May 31, 2012 12:44pm

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva says he is in the final stage of his lengthy recovery from knee surgery and hopes to be fit for the Reds' pre-season.

The Brazilian saw his campaign cut short in November after suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage to his left knee in Liverpool's 2-0 Carling Cup win over Chelsea.

Lucas underwent an operation on the problem the following month and has been recovering ever since, with the midfielder currently continuing his rehabilitation in his native Brazil.

After six months on the sidelines, the 25-year-old is hungry to return to action and hopes to be fully recovered in time for next season.

He told Brazilian TV channel Sportv: "I'm in the final stage of my recovery. I've been recovering for six months.

"I am currently in the physical stage, aiming to be back for pre-season, so that I can be back on the pitch as soon as possible."

Good news, hope he can regain his form

I think extracting teeth with a rusty old pair of pliers was less painful than watching Lucas develop. I hope to God what you said is more "bulls.hit" opinion, that you tend to splatter over the boards.  :D
