moses has all the talent and confidence in the world but his decision making leaves a lot to be desired at times. he's only 21 though so that will come, in the same way that henderson will improve given time and experience.

Looking at our form this season we have to ask ourselves can we afford to rely on players that need "time and experience".

I realise that we have to bring players through BUT it's one thing to give one or two youngsters time in a successful team and a different story to include them in a team that's struggled the way we have.

Lets not forget that our form since the turn of the year is on a level with the candidates for relegation, sorry but right now I don't think we should be looking to recruit any more "one for the future" or "give 'em time" signings.

i agree mate, we bought mostly potential last summer when in hindsight we needed the finished articles to move us up a level. buying potential is great when you already have a good side and you are planning to stay at the top in the future but that isnt the situation we are in.
we need players that will come into the side and have the same effect on the first team that suarez did.

i agree aswell. i wasn't saying we should sign moses. as i said he lacks end product but has time on his side. i'd prefer he learnt his trade somewhere else, had one exceptional season so we can then buy him for £25m :D

i made the comparison with henderson because i find it ludicrous that some of our own fans can write him off as "a flop" after one season at a huge club, away from home for the first time with new players and new surroundings at the age of 21.

henderson will improve year on year and will end up a great player when he is about 27 mate but i think we are all singing off the same song sheet in terms of this summer, we need players that can take us up a level next season not in 2 seasons or 3 seasons time.
i think it`s important that we show players like suarez that it`s worth hanging around here as well, i think even if it means us paying over the odds we need to bring in at least 1 big name.

We just need to trust in FSG and know they will get the right man to replace Comolli. He was right for last summer and did a good job at getting rid of dead wood. The new man can take us forward further

f*cking hell ! d'yer think we'll really have to carry him for that long .

:D

Honestly (depending on playing time) if he doesn't step up next season I can't see him lasting with us.

I think the big mistake was signing Henderson last summer it was a year or two too soon. We should have signed a right winger to give Carroll more service and also another midfielder to cover for Lucas.

For Henderson read Lucas 2 years ago

Lucas come good and managed to shove a few people's words down their throats and Henderson will also if given time to develop - unfortunatly modern fans don't allow that time and ready made of the shelf footballers are expected not young lads with potential.

As I said the other day, Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard and Suarez are 8 of a team that are easily capable of being top 4 next season. The other 3 positions need strengthening. These players don't really have to be 3 absolute world beaters, just the right type of players who will suit the style of play we think will take us forward. This season the players we brought left us in limbo as to what type of team we wanted to be. The likes of Suarez, Bellamy, Maxi and kuyt are suited to pass and move and yet the signings of Carroll, Downing and Adam moved towards the direct opposite in terms of a more direct approach. I still don't see a vision of what we want to do going forward.

30m Jack Rodwell

Although not good enough for their first team.. he would be in keeping with our recent policy of splurging a fortune on average Brits.

A par for the course signing.

God forbid we actually spend wisely on a quality player.

You make it sound so easy to buy players who'll be a success. Just go foreign, pick three or four well touted players and success is guaranteed.

Jack Rodwell is injured that's why he isn't playing for Everton currently not because he isn't good enough for their first team.

Jack Rodwell will be at the mancs within in 2 years.

It doesn't matter who you buy if the team is set up wrongly and sitting too deep week in week out you won't win games. When Kenny first took over the passing was quick, incisive and enabled movement and goals. This season it's been the opposite. We still haven't got out of the Rafa syndrome of knocking it sideways all the time constantly going back to the keeper and always playing in front of the opposition instead of trying to get behind them. It's no wonder there's nobody in the box most of the time because the tactics are set up as counter attack.

We could spend 15mil on Alfonso Alves or 20 odd mil on Veron

Plenty of well touted foreign players have fell flat on their face in the prem

That Mark Noble had a good game for West Ham today.. worth a punt at say... 22 million?

With all these incredibly expensive English players, the national team must have won a shedload of tournaments at senior and under 21 level?.. or at the very very very worst performed brilliantly in tournaments?

What you mean they get their a$$ handed to them against superior foreigners every 2 years? What they have done f**k all at any level bar a dodgy home tournament a half century ago?

This can't be right... nah dont believe it. Phone up big sam... Noble it is.
