or Ipswich having a fairy tale season, pushing for the champs league spot finally getting a well deserved uefa cup spot and then relegated the next season.
or Kevin Keegan's league leaders Newcastle trashing manyoo 5-0, then going on a winless streak for 8 games in the league.
what changed? did players suddenly became bad ? or has it got to do with motivation? or it is the managers fault?

As for Fernando Morientes... long past his best was still on a different stratosphere to the geordie yard-dog. Cost a sixth and had a better goal return.
andy carroll will go down as the worst transfer deal in british history, and almost certainly the worst transfer deal in world football history.
The 8th most expensive player ever.... 35,000,000... 35 million... thirty-five million... say that figure out loud, take it in.
Kenny Dalglish paid thirty-five million for andy carroll. No matter how many times its repeated it will never sink in. Its the most staggering statistic anyone will ever come across off the field of play.

Its a mixture of things, pressure, lack of belief, too much expectation, mistakes being punished, players going missing or losing form, the list goes on.
The media has a massive effect and is really all powerful as we have seen with regards to Suarez. If anything has changed in football it is the medias influence, as KK has found to his cost

Yes blame everything apart form the real cause, always easier to bury one's head in the sand. As for spurs who gives a *****, if we'd had a decent team and a decent manager then maybe we could have capitalised on it. as it is we could well end up in 14th place unless we figure out how to score goals pretty damn fast.

So lets focus on improving as a team and changing their opinions.

"victim mentality" would suggest that the media bias is imaginary. Its not whether they think were sh'it, I couldnt care less what they think, its how they handle stories and what angle theyre coming from. Either you dont read papers or watch ssn, or you are living in cuckoo land where reporters and joirnalists only tell the "truth" and are "impartial"
Fu*king dream on Muttley

Their angle is ofcourse to create controversy to sell newspapers. That is true regardless of what football club they are talking about. If we didnt give make it so easy for them the Suarez story would not have been as big as it was. It was a pr-disaster, especially when we didnt bother to appeal after making such a big fuss over defending luis.

Honestly it was more of a giant fuckup on our part rather than any great "mindtrick" from fergie. We gave him a gift to use, and he used it.

Absolutely... it was an open goal.
I can totally see why Kenny did it.. and i defended him then (Evra is a little shitehawk)... the problem was there was an absence of leadership at the club, we were rudderless during that period. We didnt have anyone understanding the situation (how the media works especially) and it got completely out of hand. We behaved very naively throughout and the press had a field day.
I have had major concerns about the club's ownership from the start.. nothing against Henry/Werner/FSG personally for i think they are classy people and have heard only good things about them from the folk in Boston.... its just a concern about a lack of understanding of how things work here, of player value (would david dein sanction 55 million on carroll and henderson?.. would he f'ck), of appointing someone based on fans calling for it (good pr move initially but it shows a lack of knowing who you want).. also the appointment of a dof in commoli is a huge concern. It doesnt work in England (it generally doesnt work anywhere.. Mourinho got rid of Valdano as he being the manager rightly calls the shots).
There is a real lack of quality leadership at the club at the minute, and its showing on and off the field.
