the thing is, if we finish 6th and win 2 cups some fans will still see that as failure which to me is ludicrous.

It won't be a failure by any means, but not securing Champions League football for a third successive season makes for some miserable reading.

manchester united hardly won anything in the 26 years between their league titles, they certainly didnt win the european cup in that time, they went down a division but even though they were in the second division they were still the biggest club in the country.
we are the second biggest club in the country, thats a fact, if you ask anyone in the game who are the two biggest clubs in england every single one of them will say united and liverpool.

They'll also point to the fact that Liverpool are currently the 7th best team in the league.

He really need to sort out the mess sooner, starting with selling the terrible players he bought and buying quality ones. We look awful, we might end up 10th or 11th this season at this rate

We are a team who gave up on CL after the Arsenal defeat. Since then we have had our minds on the FA Cup semi.

It's a shame because we could of reached for so much more. Wins against Wigan, Sunderland and QPR would of at least kept us in the hunt.

Now the only sensible way to finish the season is to blood the youngsters in the league. Specifically Shelvey and Sterling must be involved a lot for the rest of the season.

Focus on the FA Cup. Reinvest and start again in August.

I rather lose with playing the likes of Sterling, Jonjo and Coates. As least we can see some hunger and potential. Please don't start the player based on merit but quality. The 10 minutes Sterling played already showed what Hendo had done in the fecking entire season....Honestly, not one starting player had a good game today..

Bad performance today the away team had more hunger and desire. Few in the Liverpool team looked worthy of wearing the red shirt - misplaced passes, lack of concentration and ultimately yet again a lack of imagination or movement in the final third. Only once was there genuine movement and that was the equaliser. I think things are that bad right now that without Suarez this season we would have been out of top four contention much earlier.

Doesnt matter what your tactics are.... average players get average results

We have the weakest squad since the 1993 season with Sounesss (Paul Stewart, Nicky Tanner and co.)... the british signings by Kenny was a catastrophic piece of management (although, we dont completely know who sanctioned those deals)

Jay Spearing... hes a scouser so many of our scouse support have a soft spot for him (good to see scousers coming through etc etc)... hes championship level, i expect to see him in a Sheffield Wednesday shirt pretty soon.

Henderson looks midtable... he screams average in the manner Carroll does. Its true Raheem Sterling produced more quality in that cameo today than they have all season.

Carra is finished... wonderful servant, legend.. but hes shot as a player.

Kenny has to clear out the players mentioned, plus Adam, lighten the averageness of the squad, give him whatever he recoups from player sales, and bring in two or three quality from la liga (thats if hes still here)

agreed mate, sadly its been a terrible league season.

Although I would love Kenny to get another chance next season because he deserves one I can't see FSG keeping him in the summer if results still go the same way

I've got a feeling that Kenny will step down at the end of the season, because those players in his squad are not performing for themselves, for him or for us supporters. Over the last two months we've reverted back to the Hodgson days and seeing this squad cost over £100m to assemble, that's just embarrassing. Our attack has never been fantastic this season, but we were always solid in defence, the problem is we're not even solid in defence anymore, Skrtel (our best defender this season) has gone off the boil and the likes of Carragher just aren't good enough.

F.S.G must be wondering what the hell has happened and where has their money gone. If I was John Henry I would be asking myself "just how much more hundreds of millions do I have to invest in the club to get it to the level it was four years ago"? I knew Wigan would get something out of the match and fair play to them, I hope Roberto Martinez's team stay up and play top flight football next season. At least his players show an ounce of passion, grit and determination on the pitch. Players like Henderson and Downing should take note.

I can't accept Kenny's post-match comments that tiredness is a reason or an acceptable explanation for what happened today. The players in the Liverpool teams of the past coped with three games in a week. Kenny looked bewildered in midweek with what happened and disappointed today. The question is whether time is against him?

Well, everytime Kenny says something in the media I just shake my head. Even Houllier's and Rafa's excuses were better....

It was always my fear when fan power and the new owners went after Kenny in an act of absolute desperation when he was enjoying life on a cruise! Let's face it he was under minimal pressure when he took over as manager. If he failed it was Roy's fault and if he succeeded he was a miracle man. Fourth place became a real possibility but poor results  to West Ham,WIgan and West Brom ended any chance of that happening. No criticism was aimed at Kenny which was understandable but only to a degree given some of his tactical decisions.  Kenny took over a team in problems with new inexperienced owners and his second half of the season results reads  WON 11 LOST 7 DRAWN 5 which isn't really anything special. We even went out of the EL to Braga. Was Kenny's second half of the season performance really that impressive or were we just happy to see the back of H & G and Hodgson?

Kenny has behaved like a man under very serious pressure and does not look very well. His media peformances at times have been somewhat off the wall! I know he regards his job as unfinished business but is it really doing his health any favours. He looks as if he has aged ten years in the last 15 months!

Forget about the cup runs,in the last 11 Premiership games we have WON 2 DRAWN 2 AND LOST 7 which simply isn't acceptable. If it was anybody else other than Kenny.....
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

F.S.G are largely culpable for the situation we find ourselves in. They sanctioned over 100million in deals, 75m on midtable level british players. They have allowed some of the worst deals in British history to take place. Their complete ignorance of the sport and value of player (they hired Commoli as they hadn't a clue) has allowed money to be squandered. Imagine Kenny asking David Dein for 55 million for carroll and henderson. Dein would looked at his position as manager.

My biggest concern is F.S.G. Their inexperience and lack of knowledge of the game, of player value.. has allowed a wacky spending spree on pap to occur. We can blame Kenny or Commoli for signing Carroll, but ultimately its the people that run the club that take responsibility as its them who sanction the deals. We have owners who dont know the game.
