Post your thoughts on today's game.

------------------------------------------------------------
It was nice to see us secure the three points but like Benitez I think we should had scored more goals. We dominated the game. But seeing that we are improving in every game that is a good sign. When you compare our performances from this season so far and last season it is a huge difference.

There were two players I was disapointed with; Baros and Hyypia.

Baros can make something out of his career here at Anfield but he will have to pass the ball more even though he is a striker. There were two or three times when Baros should had passed the ball to somebody else in the box who could had scored. Yes his job is to score goals and I can't blame him for trying to prove himself but if he wants to create a good partnership between himself and Cisse he will have to do better.

In the first-half Cisse gave the ball to Baros and Baros had one defender in front of him. Cisse was wide open in the box and he should had passed the ball to him because he would had propably scored but instead he took a shot and it went over the goal. Baros having his head down didn't bother me as much until today. This is a bad habbit of his and he won't be able to get rid of it easily.

Today Hyypia was very slow. He gave the ball away and he made some horrible passes, had it been a stronger team facing us they would had scored on the account of Hyypia's mistakes. He has looked shaky and he does not deserve to be captain. It is Carragher who should be captain until Gerrard returns.

Other than that our players played good. They have improved a lot.

Cisse made some incredible runs and got his team-mates involved in the game. He made some good crosses but at times nobody was in the box to make something out of it. This nonsense I am hearing about selling Cisse in January and whatnot is shocking. We all know that it is hard for French players to settle in the Premiership. Thierry Henry had a bit of trouble settling in his first season but look at him now, he's a world class player.

Cisse has the skill of becoming a class player. He has incredible pace and power but it will take just a bit more time for him to settle in. Patience is a virtue.

Well I don't feel like typing anymore. Overall performance 7.9/10. Nice win at home, bring on Blackburn.

Post your thoughts on the game.

id be very disappointed if we didnt' beat blackburn considering how much of a mess they are, perfect time to play them in my opinion, yeah i do agree with you, noticd that baros didn't pass the ball to players in better positions, i think as he seems to run with his head down its difficult, but he needs to improve on his overall awareness really

i thought garcias goal was fantastic, goal of the month, not far off it and riise's goal wasn't bad either, he just needs to get a right foot and he could of had a hattrick today, riise is better than traore in my opinion, but i would say most of the players out on loan will be binned

but anyway today i felt similar to the deportivo match, 2 many chances missed, but as for creating chances, then i would say im happy that we are making chances

not the best performance but not the worse either, well played

Well said. We simply have to beat Blackburn. If we don't make anything out of the chances we make against Blackburn it will be a draw.

On a good day baros could have had a hatrick. This was not his day, but he did cause the charlton defence a lot of  problems.

That is a mark of a good striker. If you cannot score, make sure you create a lot of problems for the opposition defence. For me, Baros has to start every game.

Agree with your view on hyppia though. His performance has been mediocre ever since he took over the armband. If we didn't have carra, our defence will be in chaos.

Cisse and garcia were both excellent in my opinion, Traore seems to be becoming a footballer and he did well although the defence was never really tested.  Alonso is class and no doubt about it and I thought Kewell did well when he came on, he looked hungrier then he has for a long time.  The fact that one ball who not even Cisse could've got to properly he chased all the way and managed to get the corner shows that Rafa's told him he wants more comitment from him.  Risse's goal was very good (but Garcia's was outstanding!) but he spurned lots of chances, having said that almost every player on the pitch was guilty of that.  Overall a good performance but its clear we need an out and out goalscorer, Cisse has looked really good on the right wing swapping back and forth with Garcia but he was bought to score goals.  I'm sure it will come in time but for the moment we need to look at where the goals will come from.

thats exactly how i viewed Baors' performance. he should have scored, and should have passed it a few times, but as you say, on a good day he would have scored a few and there would have been no complaints.
he'll take his chances next time though i'd bet on that.

hey Canadian fellar were you watching the same game? although Baros didnt score he caused Charlton sh*tloads of problems and ran tirelessly.
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.

Baros is selfish, no dispute. What I remember from that incident however, is Cisse could have laid off the ball to Baros, and chose to shoot instead (even though there was no shot on). The ball deflected of the the defender and went right to Baros(with some funky spin on the ball), Baros's first touch let him down (maybe something to do with the spin) which took him toward an acute angle. You are right, he should have passed.

My issue is had Cisse actually passed, he might have got the ball back. Good passes could be contageous, and Cisse also played selfishly(I thought more selfishly than Baros even though it was close). I think if Baros will get excellent passes, he will be obliged to return the favour. Most his goals have come from individual efforts, rather than tapping in a good pass.

All I know is this is all to the detrament of the team, and they better get it working, because the transfer window is fast apon us. I am sure that Raffa will get a striker, and months later you will probably hear Cisse or Baros whine because they cannot get a game. It is in their hands, and they are blowing it. Had both of them passed more to each other, Liverpool may well have won by five or six goals. In which case we would not think that we need another forward in the transfer window.

I just hope they remember this when one of them sits on the bench next year.

got the point there
Think the reason why Baros is not trying to assist his teammates is because ha hasnt proven himself yet, unlike T. Herry  :D

lol sorry im just laughing at what you called me
i said he was ok
but he was the weaker link in the duo that should of put more effort into the tandom to make it work cisse has the speed and the pace he will move it up the field and beat the defenders and then cross it, but i saw baros no where to be found. I think baros has to keep up with him, and talk to him about his game and the two of them should talk about what they can do to better both their games and what they want to do on the pitch. They have to do this so their is no glaring at each other which i did see. If they do this then the goals will be rolling in. until then the duo will flutter

We need to build on our recent run of good form and a win against Blackburn is imperitive.

If you offered me a 1-0 win by a dodgy own goal I'd take it now, as Blackburn won't lose by 4 again, and a win would keep our momentum going nicely.

The league will be closer this year and while I expect Arsenal or Chelsea to win it, both Liverpool and Newcastle look improved this year.

People shouldn't forget Newcastle: since Souness took over they look surprisingly competitive.

Newcastle's problem at the moment is that their defence is poor. 17 goals allowed in.
