Well, the transfer window will close in 2 days and we've not made any quality signings yet. The attempt to finish at 4th spot is doomed.  KD meant it when he said this would be a quiet window. So we're stuck with a vacant right wing position, a clinical finisher and this team full of overpriced average players that does well against the top teams but struggle with the bottom and mid table sides. Making it to 4th spot is a fantasy and again have to put off for another season. What I look for in Liverpool this season will be for us to win both domestic silverware to gain some pride back.

kenny has confirmed that we wont be signing anyone in this window and we wont be selling anyone either.
i think this is disapointing for our ambitions of 4th.
15 games remain and we sit on 35pts and in 7th place.you would have to think that this year it will require 70-80 pts to qualify and with a possible 45 remaining i think its too much.

alls not bad though if we manage to take both domestic cups it will be a good season and paper over what has been a frustrating league campaign.

We don't really need to sign anyone in this window anyways.  We're 6 points off 4th but that can happen when key players like Lucas get injured, Suarez gets a ban and our captain is struggling with injuries/fitness.  Overall we're doing quite well considering we're still competing in all competitions we're involved in.

Perhaps our targets are not available until the summer?  Perhaps our owners want to see how the season goes before rushing into spending more money?

Still lots to play for this season.

What pisses me off though is that all the rest of the teams have dropped so many points that we should have easily be able to get fourth this year.

Finishing 5-6th before the season started hadn't been a catastrophy but now I feels like it. We need CL-footie.

Amazing what a difference a week makes in football.  In the Carling Cup final, in the 5th round of the FA Cup and just 4 points off 4th.

Wish we had some easier fixtures coming up though :D

Easy fixtures?  :D  You mean the likes of Spuds and Man U? I'm quietly confident though Spuds really are a fine team at the moment.

We would have been 3 off 4th if those Chelsea kunts didn't save their asses in the final minutes  Can't see Arsenal and Newcastle fcking up though, so I think we'll go back to 7th for now.

Think we'll be kicking ourselves at the end of the season as once again results against the "lesser" teams really cost us, makes me sick to think where we might be if we'd picked up all the points in those games. Haven't ruled out a CL spot but realistically I think now we'll finish 5th or 6th.

Happy that we are a shoe in for the league cup (provided the players turn up) and with a bit of luck we could add the FA Cup to that as well.

i keep waiting for newcastle to go on a bad run but it doesn't seem to be happening. they;ve also got ba, cisse, tiote and cabaye to come back

i still think we'll finish above arsenal. they've taken 8 points from 8 games and if van persie doesn't score than they don't, simple as.

for me it'll be either us or chelsea who get 4th with chelsea obviously being in pole position at the moment. they also have essien to come back.

spurs need to drop points and if the situation arises that there is 2 spots up for grabs between the chasing pack(and hopefully that includes us) then we have a chance.

well they've certainly got a testing spell coming up. their next 7 games are liverpool (a), newcastle (h), arsenal (a), man u (h), everton (a), stoke (h) and chelsea (a).

i hate spurs and that looks a tough set of fixtures. They have been fantastic so far this season and I dont for a second expect them to give up a champions league spot.

Still, if they lose a player or two in the next couple of games and results dont go their way then anything can happen. Bale and Adebayor are their main players and beyond their starting 11 the quality in the side drops dramatically imo. Personally I think they might have overplayed their 11 in the first half of the season and if fatigue becomes a factor then I can see them struggling against the top sides and some of the more physical sides.

it's their fans i can't stand. their arrogance is astounding considering they've won sod all really for years. all of a sudden they have one year in the champions league and the europa league is now "beneath them".
