MANCHESTER CITY VS. LIVERPOOL - January 3 2012 20:00 gmt

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Not a bad display but with that lineup we were always looking to come out of the first half without conceding as the main priority. As things stand we desperately need to change the setup AND personnel if we are to get anything out of this one. I'd put on Bellamy and Gerrard for Adam and Kuyt to be honest. We also need to have Enrique and Johnson BOTH push up a little bit more with Spearing and Henderson sitting a little deeper to give us the freedom.

Not a bad display but 2 big mistakes from Reina mean we need to adjust our game regardless.

people take the :censored: outa Arsenal for being a one man team, but we're no different. Without Gerrard we're mid table fodder,

maybe without gerrard we are also pushing for 4th place right now...? you aren't half spewing some quality boll'ocks tonight

we're in the race for 4th because arsenal and chelsea are poor...not because we're good. And i'm not calling for anyone's head. But ffs...am i the only one who see's how poor we are?

The two areas we are poorest at- shooting on target at goal and corners. Two down through easy gimmeez
Havent been playing bad and we have had more possession again and pressured them. Were just not believing we can do it. Henderson and Downing believe theyre lightweight and it shows. Johnson isnt doing enough either. Theres no leadership and Im surprised that KK didnt have at least one from Bellamy and Gerrard on from the start
Different attitude second half and we might get something

Redknapp and Neville talking sense.

Carroll being marked by Clichy, Liverpool have two great crossers from the left....................just not doing it enough

I wouldnt say we are poor. We outplayed ManCity at their own ground and theres 2 reasons why we find ourselves 2:0 down:

1) bad goalkeeping.
2) poor final balls in the last third.

The first is a bit of a one-off and the second is something we've struggled with all season. The addition of Gerrard and Bellamy will help not only tonight but in the future as well but we certainly need to address this issue either now or in the summer with new acquisitions.

Other than that I'd say we played well and definitely don't 'deserve' to be in the position we're in.  Have to defend set pieces better than that though, which again is something we've been inconsistent with in recent times.

Thats why Johnson should be overlapping on the right. Hes so frustrating with his hesitancy. Get down the wing and put it in the box. Like Gerrard did

he did that and we nearly got f**ked on the counter attack.

They need to sharpen up and stop giving the ball away needlessly

Glen can cross a ball, but he gets no pace or whip on the ball.

They are all just easy peasy floaties
